By far, the BEST place I've eaten at in Sacramento lately. The food was super fresh, the service was friendly, the chefs worked clean, and the menu offerings were not overwhelming. I'm definitely going back until I work through their entire menu.During this visit, my brother and I shared the shrimp Louie salad, a small order of fries, and the most freshest order of roasted brussel sprouts I've ever had at a restaurant in Sacramento The quantity of the servings was perfect for a light early dinner. Ib was surprised that we both got full and stayed full for the remainder of the evening until I realized that because the food was so fresh, it actually was a bit healthier, so we stayed full.I highly, highly, highly recommend this place. It's a must try.Vegetarian options: You can modify some dishes to be vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: I'm gluten sensitive. I did not get sick eating here. Food is prepared well.

I was soooo looking forward to a delicious fried chicken sandwich. Sadly, my friend could not eat theirs as it was over cooked and too chewy. Whereas mine was undercooked. The fries and butterscotch pudding were delicious. It's so expensive to eat out. We went to a local play hungry and bummed. I wouldn't say don't go there, perhaps it was an off day, or we should have ordered a burger.

This place is a true gem of downtownSacramento. I hadn't been here in about 15 years; same small town all-american diner feel, food was delicious, and the young lady working the counter provided one of the best hospitality experiences I've ever had.

2 times the charm. Never again. Just left. I walk in, no acknowledgement. A pissed looking guy wiped counter and sat menu down. I sat there. An Asian lady comes in and server says hi (to her) wyte guy comes in server comes back out says hi (to him). Someone doing to go orders speaks to him (again) I finally speak up and tell her no one acknowledged or asked have I been helped. Wait 2 more minutes and decide, done! First time (2 months ago)I order and pay for fish sandwich it took 15 minutes for guy to say, we're out! After I was charged. No refund so I got a lesser cost item. Because the fish is the most expensive! I didn't see anymore blk customers today or then, I guess I know why!

First time in since the change in ownership, and WOW! I got the H.O.S (first photo) and my husband got the sunrise bowl (second photo), and we both loved our food! The gravy is fantastic, and the portions are just right. And you can't beat the price. I suspect the woman who waited on us was the owner. She was very friendly. I'm looking forward to coming back.
Tasty comfort food. Wonderful people are making it happen in front and behind the house. I'm definitely going back here when I'm in Sac.

Full disclosure, I only actually found this place because I was looking for an alternative to a chain pancake Diner.Walking up, the limited menu was a little imposing but I'm SO glad I took a chance. The Sunrise Bowl was absolutely phenomenal! Tasty, simple, but so well cooked and seasoned! I got it with gravy and bacon, and the Cajun potatoes and OH MY GOD, best decision ever at the recommendation of the guy working up front.If you're looking for an awesome little place for breakfast or lunch, definitely recommend!
