I've had a few days to think about this review. I gave it four stars, because the place itself is really neat, and I'm glad I went. The drinks were great, and the food was good. My biggest issue is the service. We were given standard service when we arrived, but after that we were neglected.First problem was flagging someone down for a second drink and appetizer. After placing the second drink and appetizer order, we were given our drinks, but not the food. We waited for quite some time - long enough to finish our drinks - with nobody coming back to check on us, or bring us the food.We decided to go somewhere else, so flagged someone down for our check. I collect tiki mugs, so I asked them for their special mug (made just for them). The mug was brought to me, and I was told something like "you need to open it now, because if it is broken, we won't take it back". I thought this was odd, but I looked at it - not like I could tell with how dark it was, but it seemed fine.We were next given our check. It was just a total amount with room for tip - no itemization - but it didn't look right to me, so I attempted to get someone's attention again. This took quite a long time, but finally someone came. I didn't even have to say anything - she said "oh, I forgot to charge you for the mug, didn't I? I'll fix that" She comes back with a new receipt - this time it has the itemized amount - so I promptly paid it.I generally tip when I'm out of town, or in a small establishment like this, because I usually get exceptional service in these instances. I am not a tipper when all I'm given is standard service and no problems - in California, servers make a fair wage. So needless to say, I did not leave a tip.I checked my credit card the next day and saw that I was "pending" a charge for the wrong amount (the first bill). I figured it was a mistake, so I waited for it to finalize. A few days later, I checked again to discover that the amount was greater than the second charge - by $20.00. THEY GAVE THEMSELVES A TIP.I am glad I went there because I had been wanting to see it, but I will not be going back - and I wish I hadn't bought a mug that will always remind me of the experience.Sigh.

This place was really fund and the food was excellent. The ambiance was incredible, like a Trader Vic's/Tiki Tiki room. Really fun and cool. The food was delicious. Our server was really nice and helpful recommending drinks. We will definitely be returning.

I turned my nose up at the Mac salad the first time because of the addition of sriracha, but I was the idiot. It is delicious as are the crab rangoons. Chicken potstickers are also great, but were dead to me once I'd tasted the rangoons. Great fried rice, though expected crispy spam not soft spam, so just be aware. Drinks were great, didn't have a single bad one. Liked how laid back it was both early times we came. Great decor. Great staff.

Others might like it but it was just kind of a weird vibe for me and everything was expensive for what you get. The cups are fun. A little light on the alcohol we felt.

Again, this is my favorite spot in Sacramento. Honestly, it rivals most tropical spots. Great drinks, food, service, and souvenirs. Plus, with the classic Tuesdays, it makes it even more perfect. Continue with the great work and atmosphere.

Nestled in the heart of Sacramento, Jungle Bird transports you to a tropical oasis with its vibrant tiki vibes and tantalizing libations. Venturing into this exotic sanctuary on a Saturday evening, we were greeted by a swift service that ensured our glasses were never empty. The decor, reminiscent of a Polynesian paradise, was a feast for the eyes. From lush foliage to colorful murals and flickering lanterns, every corner exuded an enchanting ambiance that whisked us away to a faraway island retreat. As we sampled their array of tropical concoctions, we found the drinks to be enjoyable, though not necessarily outstanding. While we didn't have the chance to explore their food offerings on this visit, the promise of culinary delights adds to the allure of future visits.Awarding Jungle Bird 3 out of 5 stars, we acknowledge its potential and plan to return for a more comprehensive review. What truly captivated us were the enchanting decor, thoughtful layout, and ambient lighting, which set the stage for an immersive tiki experience. Despite the bustling atmosphere, we were still able to engage in lively conversations at the bar, a testament to the well-balanced ambiance. In conclusion, Jungle Bird offers a promising glimpse into the world of tiki delights, beckoning us to return and uncover more of its tropical treasures. Cheers to future adventures at this captivating tiki haven!
