I love this place! All their hand rolls are filled with so much fish and it tastes so good. In this picture I got the 4 roll special with 4 different types of rolls. I like that they make each roll at a time and will serve it to you when you finish eating the last roll. The service also is amazing every time I come. They’re all very friendly and will explain everything to you, just great vibes. I also tried their lychee soju and it was so delicious. They’re also very innovative with their rolls such as the zig zag roll which was hand downs the best roll I had!

small sushi spot in sacramento specializing in hand rolls. focused menu highlights the fish quality and pleased with the 4 roll set. not a lot of seating so come early or be prepared to wait.4 hand roll set: salmon and tuna were favorites, high quality fish! yellowtail was ok

This place is tiny and so hip.Everything is very small and detailed and the food is real tasty as a result.I would recommend. It would be expensive to get full here if you're hungry but it might also impress your date.I went alone and sat at the bar and was impressed by the service.

I'm so happy Kinjo opened up here in Sac. I know there are sushi restaurants around that have hand rolls on the menu, but I just think it's cool that we now have a restaurant specifically specializing just in hand rolls, and boy are they some good hand rolls :D Off their specials menu I got the amaebi hand roll & pork belly hand roll. Off the regular menu I got the hamachi hand roll and A5 wagyu hand roll. Amaebi hand roll (7.8/10) - I enjoyed this one because before bringing out the actual hand roll they bring you the head, deep-fried and with a dipping sauce. I know it's not for everyone, but for me, the head is the best part. Ate that entire thing up lol. Flavor-wise I actually liked it better than the actual hand roll, although the hand roll was still solid. Pork belly hand roll (8/10) - I love pork belly ANYTHING lolol. Pork belly in a hand roll tho?! This hand roll was yummyyyyy. Aside from the pork belly and rice, I know there was something else in there's, I just don't remember what else, but yeah dude this one was yummmmmmo. Hamachi hand roll (9/10) - this hand roll is off the regular menu and I think it's my most favorite one lol. Aside from delicious hamachi, it's got fried leeks, some kinda creamy sauce, and it's just a flavor bomb explosion in your mouth. I could quite literally eat this all mf'n day if my tummy would allow it lol. A5 Wagyu hand roll (10/10) - it's A5 wagyu! Talk about the melt in your mouth, delectable, umami, beefy, tantalizing, fatty goodness that is Wagyu lol. Service was awesome. They're very nice and they're very attentive. But It's a small spot, not much seating so it's very intimate, which allows them more time to be able to be as attentive, which I really like.

We showed up as a group of 5 on Sunday at opening so thankfully parking was super easy! Overall, the food is decent, service was great, but the price gets pretty steep if you're hungry. The handrolls overall were just ok. I would say they're a 3/5 because you can't taste much of the fish and there wasn't much in them. It was mostly rice. If you do come, I've heard that sitting at the bar is better because they hand you the food as soon as it's prepared so the seaweed wrapper stays crisp. For most of ours since we ordered a lot, the seaweed was hard to bite through. I enjoyed most of the apps! 5/5 The seaweed salad - flavorful and crisp 3/5 Garlic edamame - perfectly flavored, it wasn't too spicy, but it was soggy and limp 4/5 Pork belly fries - I loved the shoestring fries and the sauce on top but the pork belly was all cubed fat so we didn't eat the majority of it. There may have been 3-4 pieces of actual meat cubes 5/5 shrimp tempura - I loved the shrimp tempura. It was crispy and fried well but for the price, I would've expected more than 4 pieces We paid essentially as much as we would've going to AYCE sushi but we weren't necessarily full here. If you eat light, it's a good place to check out. If you're a strong eater, I'd recommend checking out it's sushi in Roseville -- the quality of the food there is great and you can eat a lot of fish if that's what you're into!

Really inventive restaurant. Unique rolls, and the ingredients were very high quality. Will definitely be back.

Great food and service for the right price. Place is a bit small, but has a nice vibe.

Kinjo is one of my favorite spots to visit in my area. The staff is super nice and friendly. The food is absolutely amazing & never fails to taste delicious. The A5 Wagyu, yellow tail, & pork belly fries are my favorite.

I’ve been here twice now and both experiences have been great. I only wish they had more seating at the bar, but with their location that’s not something they can change. Overall I would definitely recommend this place.

I was seated right away but the 2 servers they had were not very attentive. The service just seemed a little off. The crab croquette didn't have any crab inside that I could taste. It was just all soupy inside. Flavor was okay. Outside was crispy. The sauce that came with it was gross. It was not edible at all. I ended up dipping it in regular soy sauce. I got 5 different handrolls: Crab, Salmon, Yellowtail, Bluefin Toro, and Unagi. All of them didn't have a lot of flavor. Crab was good but they don't use Dungeness or fresh blue crab. It's the pinkish canned crab you buy at the market Salmon and Yellowtail were okay. Bluefin toro costs more but couldn't really tell the difference. Unagi was good but kind of dry. Overall, I was a little disappointed considering all the good reviews.

Amazing find, been here a few times with a great selection of hand rolls. Only draw back on food is a few other cooked items are quite salty. Unique beer options and few different sakes to enjoy. Staff was attentive and kind. This is definitely a stop for anyone exploring the downtown Sacramento area.

Had a wonderful night with friends! We decided to go with the 3 specials: the bluefin, Toro, the Uni, the Wagyu, scallop and yellowtail, and also enjoyed the takoyaki, the geso, and the pork belly fries. The star was definitely the Uni and the scallops. Can't miss those. Loved chatting with the owner and his brother who's currently the head sushi chef.

I visited Kinjo Hand Roll Bar on Wednesday, 1/17/24, during lunchtime. I decided to order one of the hand-roll sets. It was the 4 hand rolls that came with Spicy Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, and Scallops. The quality of the fish was great and each roll was good in taste. It was definitely a nice, light meal for lunch. The inside of the restaurant was decorated very nicely. The staff members were sweet, kind, and attentive. I was not disappointed in this visit whatsoever. I recommend coming here.
