My son had practice at the Jiu-Jitsu school across and we were hungry for something different...seen the restaurant across the lot and so happy we came in! Attentive service, delicious and authentic cuisine, and prices that are reasonable...the lamb biryani was amazing as was the garlic naan. Will definitely have to come back and try their curries.

The place I normally go was closed. I tried this on a whim. Excellent!! The basmati rice was amazing and had great flavor. And I ordered an extra side of rice because my daughter and I always split a butter chicken. It was ALOT of rice. No complaints🤣. Butter chicken was amazing! Garlic naan was really good too.

Sacramandu isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a cosmic flavor adventure. The chicken tikka masala was liquid gold worthy of royalty, the paneer tasted like clouds pressed into cubes by the gods, and the samosas crunched like edible fireworks. The naan? Pure carbohydrate heaven—both a life raft for hunger and a pillow for the soul. I didn’t just leave full; I left spiritually upgraded. Five stars, because six would break physics.

Your staff made me feel right at home, and the meal was certainly worth the cost.
I would suggest a few gentle tweaks in Royal Nepali Thali that will make it Authentic Nepali:
- Both achaars (sweet one and spicy mango) tasted more Indian than Nepali
- Classic favorites like saag and aaloo tama were missing.
- Raita is delicious, though it’s not usually part of a Nepali thali, and the rice arrived a bit under-cooked.
- The chicken was flavorful but a touch oily and seasoned in an Indian style.
- Instead of the traditional black dal, a little spicy yellow dal with curry leaves was served.
I have a kind suggestion: If a dish is labeled “Nepali,” adding hallmark touches—mustard-oil achaar, black dal, lightly sautéed saag, aaloo tama, and perfectly steamed rice—would give guests (especially non-Nepalis) a genuine taste of Nepal without any culinary mix-ups.
Overall, I enjoyed my visit and will gladly return;

This is truly some of the best Nepali food I have ever had. The flavor was complex and well-balanced. The waitress mentioned they use all organic spices, and that must have something to do with why the flavors are so full and mouthwatering. I have had momos many times as I have friends who are from Nepal and owned a Nepali restaurant, but I never had them in a sauce before. I still prefer without the sauce, but I enjoyed and appreciated the options. And the momos in sauce were certainly scrumptious and like comfort food with the sauce spooned over the perfectly cooked rice. My chai was very good as well. I look forward to returning again and again.
As a side note I appreciated that they have a ton of shade so nobody is stuck sitting in the direct sunlight. It was a very pleasant experience.

To keep it short and sweet, this is some of the most delicious and nourishing food in Sacramento. The flavors are incredible, the spice is amazing, the dishes themselves are as beautiful visually as they are to eat - but what keeps us coming back is how their food just brings a smile to our faces.
You know the feeling when food is made with love...truly, I feel nourished after each meal here. A gem, and a real community vibe.
