Best pasty I've ever had outside of England, they are also really good in Northern Michigan, I'm so glad that this place has stayed open. They have six different pasties, Cornish, Bavarian, chicken, vegetarian, Mexican(Thursdays only) and green chili (Fridays only). I tried the chicken pasty the other day and it was phenomenal. If you like chicken pot pie I assure you that this is much better. They are very nice people that own this place, was very nice workers.

Having lived in Michigan's UP, we know something about pasties and these are the real deal. A real find (we drive from the foothills for them), and feels like home every time we come. Gotta try them!

We've been wanting to try the Pasty Shack for years, and we finally stopped by today. My daughter and I were extremely disappointed in the Cornish pasties we bought. There were plenty of chunks of meat and potatoes, but the meat was dry and chewy, and the potatoes were nice, but everything was overly salted. The only flavors I tasted were LOTS of salt and pepper. The outer part was good, but overall, it was a big disappointment.
A review I just read said to get the gravy, but gravy wasn't offered or mentioned. We took our order to go and sat in our car to eat. It was hot and looked nice, but it wasn't. The gravy would have added moisture, but it also could have added more salt.
I feel like one day I might go back again and try my luck on the Bavarian. The service was great. The young lady that was working was very friendly and polite, so I appreciated that.
Will for sure be back for this very special treat

My grandfather Harold Herbert Harris was the original owner and my dad Harold Harris took it over until probably the early 70’s. It was a treasure then and still to this day amazing Cornish pasties. When I visit Sacramento I always stop by. 💕

Ashamed to say I had not been here in a very long time. I lived nearby in the past and it was a frequent stop. The food was great, I love the crust. Had a Cornish and a Bavarian and then a nap. One is more than enough but I was hungry. I also grabbed an apple turnover and ate it warm.

Very bland and the meat was big chunks and seemed like it was a day old. If you want a REAL pasty go to marshals in grass valley..

The veggies weren't my favorite, but the crust is delicious and flaky five stars
Delicious!
Haven't ordered in quite a few years. Ordered 2 pasties expecting a delicious lunch and 1 for dinner. The pasties were terrible! Meat was over cooked making it very dry and hard to chew! The Pastie Shack use to be good, not any more! I will never order from them again! They need a new cook who needs to know how to cook! Maybe they warmed up left overs from a few days ago for my delivery! If I reheated a frozen pot pie, it would have been a 1000 times better than the garbage I got!
