Disappointing Experience with One Staff Member
We were greeted by an older lady who, with just one look at us, silently grabbed the menus and slammed them down at the table without saying a word. We weren’t sure what we did to deserve that kind of treatment. Not wanting to cause a scene, we simply walked out. It’s a shame because the younger staff here are usually very friendly. Unfortunately, this particular staff member could really benefit from some customer service training.

I ordered a large bowl of pho and was shocked to find a dead fly in it. The server apologized and offered to bring me another bowl, which I declined. They did not charge me for the pho, which I appreciated.

I used to love coming here in my younger years, but I only stopped by this time because of the convenience. Sadly, the quality has gone downhill. They used to serve great food—I’m not sure what happened. Unfortunately, I will not be returning anymore.

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in South Sac and has become one of my favorite places for an affordable meal with a clean, cozy atmosphere and kind staff. My girlfriend and I have tried more than a dozen different Vietnamese restaurants in Sacramento and I'd say that Pho Bac offers the best all around dining experience in my opinion. The servings are generous, the food is delicious and the staff is very friendly and provide quick service. My favorite dish is the simple charbroiled pork with rice, a dish I've ordered more than 100 times at various restaurants so when I say Pho Bac makes the best one I've had, I mean it. Their Pho is great as well though I've only ordered it a couple times. Overall highly recommend this place and look forward to my next visit.

I love your food, but unfortunately today I got greated with 2 roaches!! I killed them and your staff just said sorry..

I ordered a large rare steak for $16.89 (taxes included). The food is normal, nothing special. However, a huge bad impression is that there's a duck or chicken feather on the basil leaves (see photos). So disgusting 😨...I didn't make a big deal and still finished my food but this is the first and last at Pho Bac Hoa Viet. Hopefully there's no side effects later on.

Came here cause my friend told me it was a good spot ….
I’m sure it is but I don’t think the server likes Americans .
We were very respectful and the waitress said 3 rude things that were very unneeded .
Last comment she came to the table and said to my niece who was wearing a pink shirt w long hair .. boy or girl? Then laughed .
I don’t know why that was needed after all she said was rude .
She rolled her eyes also when I said I wasn’t ready to order and walked away without saying anything.
Food was not that good either, I’ve had better pho and fresher ingredients at other places.

I ordered a pho to go and it had a cockroach in it. I ordered a Pho to take away and it had a cockroach. I don't recommend it. The hygiene is terrible.
