I paid $15 for my coffee!!!! Really!! There was no price listed on the baristas choice menu, I didn't ask thinking it's the regular $5-$7, was not expecting $15!! Nothing memorable as far as the coffee was, regular....but definitely a memorable price. Never going back.
Stopped in for a quick treat and it’s a delight. I got a s’mores cookie that is the heftiest chocolate cookie I’ve ever seen and it’s the best. I don’t think I can finish it in one sitting. Its Trunchbullian levels of chocolate will defeat me.
Very cute coffee shop with lots of interesting specialty drinks and flavors. Convenient location near Kaiser and the train station. Friendly staff and cute plants and decor.
I decided to try this cafe with my husband for the first time. It was a bit confusing and a little hard to get to however we finally found it.
The coffee shop itself is very aesthetically pleasing & quite clean.
Staff are friendly, and the place has a great vibe/atmosphere.
I ordered the London Fog & a pastry. It wasn’t anything to rave about. It was standard, nothing more. Just ok !
Roots Coffee is a quaint café in downtown Sacramento. I ordered a salmon bagel, one of the breakfast specials of the day, along with a coffee drink called the “shakerato.” The bagel arrived piping hot and fresh, and it was absolutely delicious. The coffee drink was new to me, and I found it refreshing enough that I would order it again.
Overall, I had a great experience at Roots Coffee and believe you will too. If you are looking for a small, quiet café, this might be just the spot for you. Keep in mind that seating is very limited, so if you visit during a busy time, there may not be a free table.
I had the most fabulous Iced Mocha (topped with Vanilla Cold Foam) I have EVER had. The barista takes pride in making a fab drink and the vibe was awesome as well.
This is great coffee. I had their house black coffee. A little pricy but worth it. As a good quality cup is worth the extra dollar.

I loved the honey coffee and free lemon water. I only been there once but I recommend these two items if they still have them.

Love this place! We ordered a cold brew, a Pumpkin Pie Latte, cinnamon roll, and an everything bagel - each one was stellar!! Their coffee is smooth and atmosphere is great. Service was quick and staff very friendly. Great place for quick to-go coffee (order ahead is a plus), or meeting friends for coffee, or studying/working, the vibes are great all around. Only downside is parking but we went on a Sunday morning and were able to find a spot on the street. Will be coming back!!

I did a random search of coffee spots throughout Greater Sac - to find a place to hit up on a Sunday morning. I eventually landed on Roots. Just want to say that any / all of the positive reviews were / are spot on.
Parking: Not sure what to say here....

Beautiful curation of the plantaciae kingdom--soft succulents in giant gold clamshells, perfect morning sunlight. Kick back on the couch, on low-lying leather seats or the outdoor terrace. Their Ethiopian Core blend drip coffee is one of the best I've ever tasted in the States.
