Decent coffee shop with good coffee, comfortable seating and aesthetic, and helpful staff. California prices.. $4 for a double shot in a paper cup... But good coffee all the same. Indoor and outdoor seating is nice. Outside seating well shaded in the morning. Popular but not too busy to enjoy a quite sit or work.

Roots is a tough one to rate. The shop itself is small but has a really great vibe—lots of plants and a cozy feel. Staff is friendly and the menu is surprisingly large for the size of the place. The downside is parking. First time I tried to visit I couldn’t even find a spot and had to leave. You’ll likely have to park a little ways away and walk in. That said, I’m glad I went back because it’s definitely a nice spot if you’re already in the area. Probably wouldn’t...

Roots staff members are approachable and knowledgeable about flavor pairings. The restaurant is always clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. The rotating menu and one-off drinks keeps things fresh and interesting. Overall it's one of the best spots in downtown Sacramento to grab drinks.
