As new to ramen and being vegetarian, we loved our experience here. Awesome ramen!

Parking was horrible, good food, quick with good price. I appreciate not being rushed out and having help package leftovers to go.

It was super crowded but they are very prompt and efficient. We got our food fast. I got the spicy chicken ramen: it had good flavor. My friend got the regular and another friend got the veggie. She liked the amount of veggies in it. They had heated lamps for outside sitting which was pleasant.

My first time, with 4 others. Four of us got different ramen bowls, one got curry/rice. We all agreed that the flavors were fantastic, not too salty, just right. The gyoza appetizer was tasty also. We all agree it is worth coming back for. Japanese beer on tap, in bottles also. Sake options were good as well. Lots of parking in the Safeway parking lot, or on the street.

I’m not sure where to begin, but I’ll start with the parking—it was decent, not great, but manageable. We checked ourselves in upon arrival, and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. It was busy and filled with customers, which initially gave me hope.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the hype. I’m not sure if the glowing reviews are paid for or if my expectations were just too high, but the ramen was underwhelming. The broth lacked depth, and overall, the flavor just wasn’t there. I’d rate this place a 4/10 or 2/5 if I had to give it an honest score.
I personally wouldn’t return, nor would I recommend it to others.

My favorite ramen place and I always keep coming back. While their menu may be more limited than other ramen places, I have not found a place that can beat their broth! I find the broth and noodle texture truly makes the ramen, and they nail both every time. Staff is always friendly and helpful, and i love the taiyaki ice cream for dessert. My only gripe is that i don't care for their chashu pork and usually go without it, but I'm very picky about meat, so do with that as you will haha.
Truly the best ramen place in Sacramento. Been coming here for many, many years and will continue to do so.

I visit Ryujin Ramen House in Midtown Sacramento often with friends, and it’s hands down one of my favorite places to eat! What I love most is that there’s rarely any waiting for seating, even during peak hours. The food is consistently excellent - every time. I usually go for the red ramen with corn added...a trick one of my friends taught me, which really takes the dish to the next level. The combination of flavors is perfect, and the mushrooms they add really bring the dish to the next level. I’ve never had a ramen experience that hits all the right notes like Ryujin does. The service is always friendly, and despite everything being made fresh with top-quality ingredients, it doesn’t take long to get your food here. It's rare to find a place that delivers every time, and Ryujin nails it on all fronts.

I can’t believe I picked this place! I first dined here more than a decade ago with a friend who insisted it was a great Japanese place. I remember not being impressed by the food back then, but I failed to recognize the restaurant's name. Huge mistake! Now I am visiting friends in Sactown again and wanted some Nihon foods. This place had good reviews and was close to my friend’s place. I recognized the place when I got there. Still, I wanted to try it since it had been more than ten years. My biggest complaint is about the karage. The worst karage I ever had. It was not fried the Japanese way and should not be even called karage. Now I remember this place and probably will never visit it.

When you call to ask about the wait they lie and say 15 minutes to bring you in, when in actuality it’s a 45+ minute wait. They did this to me and I saw them do it to others once I was there.
The veg ramen was not worth it at all. Lacks flavor and depth.

My friend got black garlic ramen with pork broth I got veggie ramen and asked for tofu to make sure i get protein. I tasted the black garlic ramen and the main flavor is roasted sesame oil which is delicious. I’m not sure why they don’t have more veggie broth options or why they don’t make a version of black garlic vegetarian since the main flavors are garlic and sesame oil.
The veggie broth didn’t have much flavor so I asked for hot sauce. I think they should add tofu to their veggie option since all their other ramen bowls have large portions of meat or at least have it as an add on so people trying to be healthy can meet protein goals and have a more filling entree. I also feel the broth wasn’t good needs more seasoning.
We got Sake that was delicious! The service was quick and attentive.
If you’re veggie or vegan there are some options but they aren’t the most delicious.

The red tonkatsu ramen and the Kurogama Tantan Men were very good. I especially liked the boiled egg.

Worst ramen place I have ever been to. The noodles were cooked weird. They were thick and chewy. The pork was not only cold but a little bit pink. There were hardly any toppings and for some reason it had lettuce which added nothing to the flavor. In fact there was nothing to the flavor. It was tasteless and difficult to get through. The only saving grace for me was the egg which was also cold but at least well marinated.

Went here the first time back in 2016 and didn’t get a chance to come back til yesterday. Quality was still as excellent as it was the first time 8 years ago. One of the best broths I’ve ever had the pleasure of consuming. If you’re ever in Sacramento and love ramen, this is the place!
