OH NO! You guys accidentally deleted my previous post. THAT"S OK! I'll just go ahead and upload it again :) it's no problem at all :) These things happen :) I'll go ahead and copy it to both the Westside and Simpleton pages :) Hey Lucky, Ryan, Vanessa, and any upper management that currently enforce your policies. I decided to stop by here say the same thing I commented under your most recent post (the one where you claimed to be a 'safe space' for your community,) before deactivating your Instagram account. In reference to that post, I am here to ask how EXACTLY you expect to be a 'safe place,' when Lucky himself has made it incredibly clear his hatred towards the homeless community (referring to them as only one of two things; "its, or derelicts, never once acknowledging them as human beings,) forcing everyone to refuse them service even if they had money and weren't bothering, anyone. Even going so far as ENCOURAGING your employees to call Sac PD and LIE about their Physical Saftey in an effort to bring the police into and around your facility to kick out anyone 'perceived,' as homeless. The same community that is home to many, Black, POC, and Trans lives, some of whom suffer from mental illness. Your inability to acknowledge any and all wrongdoings and instead choosing to deactivate your account and going silent is not surprising and honestly the best representation of your company and how you handle criticism. Let us not forget the multiple times Lucky and upper management gave their workers the silent treatment instead of addressing any issues they had with them. I've decided to attach some photos from past employees (myself included,) explaining some of the toxic/abusive behavior your company displays.

It's a nice ambiance but I wouldnt totally come here for just breakfast again. Haven't tried the coffee but groups of 2 or less is better in my opinion due to the space layout. Food was okay but not bad.

I just love this place. They don't try to be something they're not; what they do, they do well. It's a pretty straightforward combination of great-tasting drinks, delicious food, and a welcoming ambience. That last detail--the atmosphere--is really where it's at for me. There are a lot of nice coffee shops in Sac but Simpleton is different. It's, well...simple. It's no frills, it's comfortable, it's relaxing. The one distinct difference--and it's a game changer--is their vinyl turntable and the captivating collection of recording artists they offer. The music itself, often played an album side at a time, is a salve for any life stress. Come for the coffee, stay for the tunes. I've sat inside for hours: sometimes tucked into a cozy corner, laptop alight, chai tea steaming nearby; sometimes by the large windows, bathed in the Sacramento sun, watching Midtown dog-walkers and bike-riders amble by. Each time fully spellbound by the sounds of musical heroes from the past. There's just no beating it. Here, it's so easy to spend your time chatting with a friend or working on projects and feel like you're at home. And when you find a place that just feels like a perfect fit, you keep coming back.

A little pricey, but the food is super tasty. I really love how they have lots of vegan options too including vegan butter, which I think they pour into their waffle batter because it is super buttery and delicious. Their vegan chorizo burrito is also super tasty and they are so good with each other with the savory and and the buttery sweetness. They also have killer vegan donuts. This place has really great food honestly in all sense of the word. The decor is also really cute and trendy but also has some cozy and homey feels to it. They have a record player and old school speakers that are fun to look at. The only downside whatsoever to this place is that the food is a little expensive and just like the name implies "Simpleton" the outside of the restaurant is very easy to miss as there is no eye catching sign or big bold colors from the outside. It's the inside where the magic happens.

Food is good and hearty. The biscuits were different but just as good as I was led to believe! Coffee is very good, but one star off because they give you a fairly small cup then charge $1 for a refill. Really? Otherwise service is fast and friendly and I'll be back.

Great environment and awesome place to eat. The breakfast burrito was great and the coffee was delicious. Only downside (and it's just me) is the place is so hipster I feel like I'm way too lame to fit in here.

Best waffles in town!!!!. The staff is always so friendly and inviting. We absolutely love this new spot.

The subtle ambiance of a classic vinyl record player, paired with the wooden booth styled seating and a few pictures and plants add to the bright and airy atmosphere of this cafe. Perfect brunch spot for a rainy day morning. The waffles are ginormous, enough to split between 2, and fluffy. Their hazelnut spread tastes better than Nutella! The classic latte made with oat milk was delicious and was the exact pick me up needed for a Saturday morning brunch. Oh and did I mention I was able to get all this vegan?! Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back for more.

This is a great local small diner. The coffee is first rate and the breakfast items are excellent! Anything that involves their biscuits are dangerous. There must be 50 layers of dough in each one. My favorite is the Pesto and sun-dried tomato scramble. Enjoy!

Great spot that is more like a cafe then a coffee shop. Good selection of food so you can hang out and eat lunch there. Sandwiches are fine but the bread is too thick and firm, doesn't add much to the sandwich. Coffee is very good, service is a bit unpolished but very friendly and attentive. Lots of regulars pop in and out. Don't sit by the windows the glare will wash out your laptops. I wish they had some shades. There is one table next to the coffee station, sit there if you are very social. They had decent Cisco wifi and while it did slow down a number of times when it was moderately busy it never dropped a connection. All devices connected just fine even if connection speed was just fair.

I really enjoyed the coffee more than the food here. I appreciate the variety of drinks and pastries. The menu made the food sound really good but was left slightly disappointed. We ordered the soyrizo breakfast burrito which was good but was desperately missing a good spicy salsa to pair with it. Note to the owners- Please make a delicious salsa for the burritos! We also ordered the Hazelnut and banana waffle which was not that good. Very dry and hard, it's as if they left it in a tad bit too long. Just not good even after adding syrup which normally I don't do as these types of waffles are sweet enough on their own. Overall, the food was decent and could use a few more tweaks to be good. Location is in a good area, lots of parking. Be prepared to wait especially on a weekend. Place is fairly small but luckily there is benches outside to wait.

Eh based off of the recommendations that I saw on yelp I thought it would be a good idea to try the chai latte as well as folks were raving about the biscuits so I had a bacon biscuit sandwich. It was OK .I appreciated the attentive servers but in all simpleton was not something to rave about but it's OK . Wasn't terrible but also wasn't amazing.

The name says it. Good service and food. Be in downtown setting with view then I could see that kind of pricing. And menu could use more simple basics. Otherwise not bad

2/10/2020 Good food but 40 for 2 breakfast burritos a drip and a latte ain't it. At least offer us some convince for those prices let us call in our order at least. Great staff but ownership needs to better understand perceived value if they can do this great if not we won't be returning, shame cause we live down the street. 2/11/2020 so I go back today order another breakfast burrito and half full small drip and my total was 23 ish dollars. When I ask the cashier about the pricing his reply to me is and I s*** you not.... Well then don't come back because they are constantly busy and no one else seems to care.... Needless to say he shut up and listened when I shared with him I was a chef for the last 15 years. These people don't care spend you money here at your own risk. 2 days 60 dollars later I was asked to make another choice just for trying to understand my my burrito and coffee is twice as expensive in Sacramento than it is in SF. We live down the street (less than a block away) and won't be returning if the attitude presented today is reflective of management . I'll try and share this experience with as many people as possible and the more people I share it with the more people have share the same experiences. Ownership you can write me of a a complainer of you can take the help free of charge but telling me I'm an a****** because I wanted to understand is bad business your call on this I'm here to help in anyway possible. A small part of me would spend twice that amount daily and post updates to this review to show the true colors of this company and how it respects called it's demograohic.
