Love the fresh selection of fresh sushi grade salmon and tuna accompanied by great service. Recommend getting here sooner than later because they sometimes run out.

When someone told me about this wonderful place, I made sure I went to visit as soon as I was able. I love fresh fish, and especially I was looking for fresh oysters. 6 oysters right now can cost as much as $35. We purchased two dozen, plus a shucking knife, and our bill was $38. We did decide to make them all as Rockefeller Style, and we created a sauce that was delicious. The gentleman who helped us, Leo, so that's exactly how to open them. And since we were newbies at this process, we cheated and put them in the oven for 10 minutes, at 375°, and that helped in the shucking process. After about 2 or 3 we had the technique mastered and they were delicious. Will be back often. Thank you to everyone especially Leo.

It seems like there is no need for general consumers to visit. Parking is only for 4 or 5 cars, and the area is filled with the smell of fish. Still, it seems like an important store because it is almost the only wholesale fish market in Sacramento.

Everyone says “sushi grade” is an arbitrary term that refers more to a freezing point than actual freshness. Having been here multiple times, I think the fish is a cut above everywhere else in Sac (for the price). The first time I shopped at Sunh, I even got a discount for grabbing a whole salmon fillet, so it didn’t break the bank when I was just learning how to make sushi at home. Now this is my go-to any time we have a craving. Def worth the visit.

Lines were long but moved fast due to the hustle of the workers and the system they had set up for heavy traffic. I went on New Year’s Eve in the middle afternoon. That was my mistake. I meant to go earlier.
I only needed salmon so once I got through the queue, I was out quickly. We have bought salmon from Sunh Fish before and it is always good. Last time I purchase from a specialty full grocery on Folsom blvd. The price there was double and the fish was not as fresh.
Sunh Fish was constantly bring in new fish so it wasn’t sitting in the display case all day.
Must remember to go back and must remember to go earlier in the day.
