This was an excellent place for a great breakfast at a reasonable price. The staff is always friendly and the food good. In todays situation where you need to spend your money wisely it would be a shame if they don't reopen. Good food for a reasonable price, please reopen soon.

Mel's Diner is a very tasty food restaurant. Sadly a couple months ago there was an electrical fire which closed the doors. I am assuming insurance and building owners, not Mel's owners, are dragging things out, which is typical. I am sending best wishes to the Mel's owners for speedy re-opening!

Stopped by this Mels Diner in Natomas for an impromptu brunch. We were seated right away. There's lots of cute old school decor and a jukebox at every table if you want to place music. The two waitresses taking care of all the tables were just the nicest ladies you could ask to be served by! Our food came right away and it was really good. I ordered the chili cheese fries and my husband ordered the gourmet fries. I also ordered a root beer float and it was huge. It came with a side cup of root beer which was really nice. Definitely recommend coming here!

Awesome vibes from this place. The decor is great. I'm a big fan of their mini jukeboxes. Came here during my birthday and brought quarters to play music. Root beer floats are epic. The French dip sandwich with fries is out of this world.
Do not eat here, the owner doesn't care about his customers. He only cares about the money in his pocket They can't make an order right I had to drive 20 minutes back over and the owner refused to do anything about it or compensate for my gas not to mention the quality of the food was worse than any Mel's I've ever eaten at I will be letting corporate know. It's honestly not the first time I've eaten there, but bad quality food and service.

There are no words to describe how awful it is when you're super hungry at 11:17 pm & pregnant, you pull up to the Mel's Diner in Natomas because their business hours clearly state open til 12am on their website & Google, BUT THEY'RE CLOSED all of a sudden... So, from the parking lot, I call the business, speak with Brianna, who states they closed at 11:15.. Well that's funny... This location does this all the time. Hence the negative review finally. I mean, at least the staff can let the owner know they've changed the business hours to their convenience, on a daily... Maybe still do to-go orders??!!! So after happening yet again, my recommendation is don't waste your time. The staff at night says the kitchen closes at 11:15, so they can't serve customers. Ok sure. Smh. However, I'm still in front of Mel's Diner & see 3 staff sitting at the counter eating. Not to mention the 2 staff out front smoking cigarettes. Don't hesitate to drive the extra few miles to downtown or Roseville.

I would say this location is in an area you wouldn't expect however the area itself is fairly decent. It was my first time trying these gourmet fries. though instead of regular fries I wanted to substitute for sweet potato fries which to me is not only a healthier alternative but taste better then the regular potato fries. It was a nice sized plate that could serve two people as their menu also says it's shareable so that's true which I like and not misleading. The waitress allowed people to sit wherever they wanted which was a plus because I prefer to be tucked off alone if possible and she was really consistent with making sure I had everything I needed. I would recommend this place to a family or friend. Happy Holidays!

We love this place. We've been kind of regular customers of this location since I used to work in the same complex. Stopped visiting for a couple of year because the quality of the food had diminished noticeably but, it's back to offering good food at fair prices. I ordered the San Francisco Mel's burger the patty was thick, good flavor, bacon es toasty not soggy, the bread was able to hold the burger perfectly and the fried were also very good. Definitely Vitis the place more frequently now.
