great service and food today
Great service on weekday evening! Perfectly cooked breakfast and dinner items as well as appetizer item. Service was friendly and quick. Restaurant was welcoming and decorated for the upcoming Halloween holiday. Food came up quickly, pricing was a bit high but not unexpected. Tons of variety of items to choose from.

Based on reviews, The Original Mels Diner (Natomas) is a lovely place that serves a delicious breakfast. The vegetarian omelette is packed with cheese, avocado, mushrooms, tomatoes, spring onion and sour cream, and the crispy hash browns make a perfect combination. The chicken fried steak and eggs are excellent, with hash browns off the chart good. The French dip is excellent, and the fish and shrimp basket is done perfectly. Portions are huge, so come with a big appetite. The staff is incredibly nice, friendly, and attentive. The wait staff will substitute any item from the menu, and they suggest sauces/gravies to try. This place is always extremely clean, and customers feel like they truly care.
