I've visited Sushi Daruma three times in the past month, hoping each time would be better than the last. Unfortunately, my experiences have been consistently disappointing. On my first visit, despite it being a slow Tuesday night, it took a whopping 20 minutes just to get water on the table. My group and I waited patiently, only to find the same issue on a Thursday visit. Again, the restaurant wasn't busy, yet we waited another 20 minutes for drinks before leaving out of frustration.Thinking perhaps the third time would be the charm, we returned on a busy Saturday evening. Surprisingly, drinks were being served promptly to other tables. We placed our order, but only one drink arrived after 10 minutes for our group of four. We never got our other drinks and didn't even bother to inform the server since this was always an issue the previous times. The food took an additional 45 minutes to arrive, and when it did, the baked and deep-fried rolls were cold. When we politely informed our waitress about the issue, we were told nothing could be done, and we would still be charged for the food. This lack of accountability and poor customer service is unacceptable.Overall, I cannot recommend Sushi Daruma. There are plenty of other sushi spots in town that offer a welcoming atmosphere, exceptional customer service, and most importantly, better quality sushi. Save yourself the disappointment and dine elsewhere.

Nice mix of classic and original rolls. Great drink selection and vibes.
If you like hair in your food this is the place my wife found a long hair on her fried shrimp the cooks don't wear hair nets which they probably should we will not be back here agin.

Chicken donburri was disappointing. Flavor was average nothing wrong there. The 7 small slivers of chicken was the let down for me. Figured they could have put less rice and added more chicken or something especially for 20 dollar item. Rather go to panda get a rice bowl with three times if not four times more teriyaki chicken for 13 dollars.

Sushi Duruma isn't a Japanese restaurant. This restaurant is a Korean restaurant that prepares Japanese style cuisine with a Korean influence. The Sushi is fusion style and doesn't use the traditional style of seasoned Sushi rice but instead has strange sauces on top of the Sushi that adds the actual flavours. The Teriyaki was alright and the sauce used tasted more like Bulgogi sauce which is decent. From what I heard the owner of this establishment was the previous owner of Harumi in Seaside. Overall this is a decent restaurant located in the old town area of Salinas. Three stars is my rating. Parking can be very difficult.

Food was delicious and service was great! I would definitely recommend their tonkatsu ramen since winter season is starting to creep in. Give this place a try if you're in town
It's our first time and we wanted to try this coz we keep on going to other Japanese restaurants. The place is clean and quiet (which I like, don't like too much noise when I'm dining), Stephanie our server (I don't know if I spelled her name right) was awesome! She's very sweet and attentive, keep checking if we need anything else or if everything is okay. The foods were good! all in all, a pleasurable experience for a first time. We will come back again for sure. Thanks Stephanie for such a wonderful service! You're awesome!

Great service, size of portions, and price. Food is always fresh and perfectly prepared. Best place to eat in Salinas. Visited several times. Tried the beef teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, saba, tempura shrimp, and California rolls. All were excellent.

I have been here for dinner and for lunch. Both were excellent. The wait staff is very attentive and you don’t wait long for your dinner. I had a hamachi carpaccio along with tempura, chicken teriyaki and nigiri ?. All delicious. I know you typically when I think of sushi in Salinas, but it’s worth the trip.
Great sushi and great service.
