My husband & I used to be regulars at this restaurant until we moved out of Fairfax and further north so it's been a while since I have been here. I went last night for dinner with my sister and we had a fantastic meal. The server was very attentive and patient. He was great answering our questions and held one of the appetizers she had ordered to keep it warm until I arrived. Very nice. The only thing is that now that I'm vegetarian, there weren't a lot of pasta options and I ended up with a margarita pizza. It was yummy so no complaints, but I would love it if some restaurants in Marin would start to make more of an effort for vegetarians and vegans, especially since more and more people are going at least partially plant based. I have to say that it is the running joke for me with my friends that when we go out to eat, I have the choice of a mushroom dish as an entree unless I decide to do salads or apps. There are so many other things to do for plant based appetites than mushrooms and butternut squash. And I feel like Italian should be one of those restaurants that can really do a nice job with non-meat dishes. Okay, that being said, we had a great time, the apps and wine were delicious and the dessert, Tartuffo, was as delicious as I had remembered.

Great local spot. Wonderful service and the bartenders are on point. Like wine, fresh greens and great Italian? Then get going!

A fantastic restaurant right in downtown. It is small and quaint. The service was very attentive and helpful. The food was good. Slightly better than I was expecting, but not quite worth five stars.I would definitely come back if I was in the area. It's a very solid choice for a good dinner.

Tasty appetizers, Neapolitan style pizza. Excellent wine selection. Great location for summer weekend music festivals.

Delicious food and excellent service! Loved the yummy soup, the special pasta, and the dessert - almond cake. Really relaxed vibe and able to just enjoy a nice meal and conversation.

A client who lives in Marin County offered to take me to dinner after a long day of meetings. I am staying by the water in Sausalito, so the drive was easy, but oh my goodness... I may be used to authentic Italian and excellent service, coming from the South where rudeness is not tolerated, but this place had neither. My host was quite embarrassed and kept saying, "I am sorry I talked this place up, I think they are having an off night." Perhaps, but would that explain the owner's EXTREME rudeness when approached by my dining guests about the quality of two of our dishes? She was terrible. Would it explain that the wait staff dropped out sub-par dishes and never checked back, so we had to get up from the table to find them? I can only imagine the 4 and 5 star reviews are locals who have little other choice than to suck it up.

My friends and I had a terrific meal last night. Our server, Tina, is so amazing - she is funny, hospitable and kind. She is a gem and made our experience a 10/10. We loved the wine selection and she guided us towards wines that we really enjoyed. The food was great too. We split the meatballs, kale salad, Gamberi Agrigento, and Spaghetti all'Amatriciana. The pasta was to die for!!! Truly. I can't wait for my next visit!

Food is so fresh, seasonal, and always delicious. I don't know what olive oil they use but it's so good. The bruscetta is phenomenal. A great location in beautiful downtown San Anselmo. Service is always excellent. We always look forward to eating at Cucina.

Cucina is our family's favorite for brunch on weekend , lunch and dinners with friends. The waiters are like family , ambiance is light , airy and it feels like home. Food is fresh and my requests are always accommodated. We especially like the gnocchi, Artichoke, zucchini salad and halibut in season.

Awesome! I hosted a 60th Birthday dinner for a dear friend last Thursday. The staff at Cucina could not have been lovelier. They were so accommodating as our number grew to 12 women. I asked if they could make a special cocktail and they called me the night before to review the cocktail ingredients. At exactly the time when all the ladies arrived, they brought out 12 perfect cucumber martinis. They let us bring balloons and decorations. The waiter took pictures of the whole group. The food was beyond delicious - both appetizers and main courses. Then they brought dessert with a candle and even turned the lights off as we all sang Happy Birthday. I'm so so grateful to Cucina! It was a PERFECT night.

Extremely rude and mean service! After complaining about it we were brushed off completely. The waiter was very rude to my wife and the owner didn't care. Wouldn't go back to this restaurant.

Our party of four dined here last week and the food was fantastic. The salmon, the smashed potatoes, and the almond cake were the favorites. We ate al fresco, which was perfect, because Cucina has really invested in good equipment - umbrellas that really block the sun and sturdy dining tables and chairs, plus string lights. I felt like I was at a Parisian bistro. Only complaint was that our server never brought the bread we ordered.

I love this place. The food, the service, the ambiance, everything was on point. My only regret was not getting the name of our server last night. She is fantastic! We sat outside and listened to the music. Our server made us feel as if we were on vacation - Thank you
