Cheliz Restaurant in San Bernardino is a hidden gem located in the old Yum Yum coffee shop, worth the trip downtown. This great place for breakfast and lunch offers excellent service, fair prices, and generous portions. The food is amazing, with compliments to the chef. Guests recommend the chilaquiles, killer stuffed French toast, Chile Verde omelet, chiliquiles divorciados, and a burger with Jalapeños and spicy aoli. The cumin-forward Verde sauce is SO flavorful, and the country potatoes, biscuits & gravy, beans, and rice are authentic and tasty. The restaurant is cleaned very well, has a parking lot, handicap parking and accessibility, high chairs for the kids, and a kid's menu. It also offers a senior menu with smaller portions and reduced prices. However, one guest noted being overcharged for items that were supposed to be included with the breakfast price, so check receipts before leaving. The restaurant gets cold inside, so bring a sweater. It only serves breakfast and lunch.
