FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! I’m not vegetarian but i’ve always loved coming here ! i think we got the kungpao chicken and omg so delicious ive never hade mock meat that was soo goood ! we also got tofu curry which was also really good and veggie spring rolls ! kiss the cook for me 🥰❤️ restaurant was beautiful definitely need more people to try this place !!
Seriously delicious!! Everything was so flavorful, it really hit the spot. Our server was very sweet and helpful. Genuinely can't wait to come back and show more people this gem.
Happy Family offers a vast menu of plant-based Chinese cuisine, including both veganized versions of traditionally meaty dishes and meals based on actual whole veggies. We appreciate the latter and also the use of mushrooms (instead of processed faux meats) as a meat replacement in some of the former. One thing we’d suggest is that they might add a few options to the menu that include both whole veggies and some protein, because most of the dishes are either one or the other, so options for balanced meals are limited for one person dining alone. Also note that many of the items are fried and some of those are quite oily, so we’d recommend ordering no more than one of the fried dishes for every two or three people. Don’t miss the flower tea, which was our favorite part of our meal. Service was very warm and helpful.
Soooo good!! So many choices and my favorite were these crispy oyster mushrooms, make sure to try them!
Truly enjoyed this place. Great tasting vegetarian foods, well presented, and good quantity. Well priced also.
Decent vegetation food. Lacking in flavor overall. The fried tofu was bland, broccoli beef “meat” was bleh. The wonton soup was yummy and the fried mushrooms were good as well.
the food, service, and atmosphere are all amazing.
Not somewhere to go if you’re not vegan. Please stick to eating steaks and burgers as real meat is the best meat !!!
Best Vegetarian Restaurant! Amazing food and Tasty and Super delicious food 😋
If you’ve been into an authentic Chinese restaurant, you’ll know that they have a specific vibe and aesthetic. It’s almost a guarantee that their food will be good. This place has that. I had the crispy shiitake mushrooms and the kung pao chicken; both were bursting with flavor and the portions were reasonable for the price. It would definitely be a go-to for me if it was closer! #Veganuary

Ordered: Sichuan wontons, hot and sour soup, basil eggplant, mushrooms and bok choy, mapo tofu, and mushroom chicken. I was really happy to hear the woman taking my order letting me know that everything on the menu is vegan. I ordered everything to go so it may taste even better immediately fresh at the restaurant. The basil eggplant was really tasty, the basil flavor impressed me, I only ordered this dish because the woman taking my order recommended it and I’m glad she did. The mushroom chicken dish had good flavor. The sichuan wontons were spicier than I expected, nice flavor but I think it could be improved with bamboo shoots or something else in the filling to give it a better contrast of texture. I am a snob when it comes to hot and sour soup and most don’t measure up to my standards, their hot and sour soup was fine, to have it fit closer to my liking I would swap the button mushrooms for shiitake mushrooms, I enjoyed a spoonful of soup better after eating a spicy wonton, i might add a little bit of the sichuan sauce to kick it up a tiny notch, their hot and sour soup was a little sweet for my liking but still nicely tangy, maybe the choice of vinegar used makes it so, I liked the soup enough that I would order it again. The bok choy shiitake mushroom dish was rather plain in flavor but I love the flavor of shiitake and greens so it was a nice addition to the whole meal. Happy to have found this restaurant and I look forward to trying more of their delicious vegan dishes!
They have an excellent selection of dishes which are well prepared. We are visiting from Houston and we usually come here whenever we are in Loma Linda. Vegetables are always cooked just right, dishes are prepared tastefully without using too much oil or salt/soy sauce. We ordered sweet and sour chicken made with mushroom, Simmer veg chicken with nuts and basil, and Fried rice noodle. We prefer their Chow Fun noodles but they were out when we visited yesterday. My wife loved the fact that the sweet and sour chicken was made with mushroom. Veg chicken was lightly fried before stir fried with vegetables and tofu which gave it a nice texture and taste. Fried rice noodle was our least favorite dish; a bit bland and not enough vegetables. We also enjoyed their flower tea so much we purchased a couple of bags to take home.
