Tasteless slop. Try using some salt sometime. You need to order at the counter and receive a number to put on your table. The drinks were okay so I rated a star for that.

1/29/22 The boyfriend was in the mood for mexican cuisine, so we decided to check out Nueve Mexican Bar and Grill that was right around the block from the apartment. When we got there, only a few tables were occupied. You order at the front and then you sit down. We didn't know what we wanted right away, so the cashier told us we can sit first and then he would take our order in a few minutes. Here's what we got: 1. Chicken enchilada (his) 2. Chicken burrito (mine) 3. Sangria (mine) 4. Lemon pepper wings (share) Everything came out in less than 10 minutes. The sangria was a bit watery (too much ice maybe?) so it was okay. The lemon pepper wings came out hot and fresh, and I liked that it wasn't overly peppery. I've never had a wet burrito before, but it was pretty good. The sauce covered the entire burrito with a generous scoop of guacamole on top. It was stuffed full with chicken, rice, beans, and onions. It was so big that I ended up taking half of it home. The enchilada was also good. My boyfriend thought it wasn't spicy enough, but I thought the spice level was fine. I think the only downside for my experience was that there was a table with a bunch of kids that were really loud and the parents didn't do anything to quiet them down. Other than that, the overall atmosphere was very casual, food was good and no complaints about the service.

We went to Nueve today for brunch with a group of friends and had one of the worst experiences. Back story is that We used to go to Nueve before they changed owners and loved the food and service- was our go to restaurant for some delicious pozole or burrito But ever since they switched a few years back, we noticed both food and service had deteriorated. Today we had ordered our brunch dishes ahead of time at the front and waited outside for our meals. Even though we ordered several dishes together, only one came out. We waited almost an hour and finally flagged a worker down and asked where the rest of our food was. We were told it was coming. Meanwhile, the one dish that already came out had been eaten and we also saw customers around us all recieved and finished their food as well (they had all ordered after we did) Finally our food came and although the burrito was good, our chilaquiles was all chips no eggs or sauce- it was literally chips and beans! We also had hungry children with us that we had no choice but to run to starbucks across the street to grab food for them since Nueve was taking so long. Again, this is our third attempt to want to like them.. the last two times we went were also pretty dissapointing. The food is not that great we had dinner here a few months back and the service is really not good. If you want to eat in a reasonable amount of time with what you would expect for the price you pay, you will be dissapointed. Sorry Nueve, we miss the previous owners and their dishes and services!! We will not be returning.

Food is actually good in this place but the service is absolutely f****** horrible. #1 you're ordering and paying up front and almost expected to leave a tip? #2 the cashier/waiter is rude AF, like if you don't want to work here then quit! #3 trying to ask for anything aside from your food you ordered..better not hold your breathe. Aside from the guys making you're I have nothing good to say about this place. Understaffed...over busy, I don't don't care! Let your patrons know that. Communicate! How hard is it that to do?! I would be surprised if this place is still operating 6 months from now! F*ck this place and the owner who lets it run this way. In all honestly you should be giving your patrons a tip to getting their own drinks, utensils, to go containers and basically everything else.

Don't waste your time or money here. The guy in the front is drinking on the job. He's rude as hell. He tells us we can't buy any liquor because he doesn't want us to be outside drunk. The tables are sticky and the bathrooms are terrible. My family literally spent $800 and got s*** service. Food is not even hot. You wait a long time for your food to come out cold and with no flavor. SPEND YOUR MONEY ON PEOPLE WHO WILL GIVE YOU THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND QUALITY OF FOOD YOU'RE PAYING FOR.

Changing my rating and sorry as this has always been a great neighborhood go to place for friends and family but recently not so much. Food is decent but doesn't appear to be as fresh and tasty as it used to be in the past. The real reason I want to re-rate is to point out that although understand staffing maybe difficult lately - there's no excuse for lack of good customer service and overall restaurant appearance. Understand this isn't a "white linen" type place but waiting staff attire is always sloppy and dirty - even a simple fresh apron would help. Every visit, We have to ask for new glasses as they are always dirty - not thoroughly washed. Fingerprints/ lipstick etc. are still clearly visible! The menus, tables, chairs and floors are always sticky- doesn't help that the staff simply wipe the table crumbs to the floor! The bathrooms are never be attended to especially during busy hours. I hope the owners/staff regroup and improve their service / restaurant overall as we would like to return then.

I wanted to give this place another try. Met my friend for lunch. Still No waiter service for lunch especially at these prices. This is still weird for me but I had a hankering for their chicken enchiladas chicken with green tomatillo sauce and the chicken tasted fishy. I don't like seafood, otherwise, I would've ordered seafood. My friend's chicken taquito's also had a fishy after taste. Cross-Contamination with the shrimp perhaps? Not good. The margaritas were good, the guacamole and chips and 3 dipping chiles sauces were good as were the rice, black beans, and the tortillas soup were delish. Hey chef what happened to the chicken?

Food is ok bit service sucks. We are standing in the front for 10 minutes ask the guy behind us and completely ignore us and took care of the guy after that he was standing there for 10 minutes without saying anything and when I asked if we can order all he said is not yet! So we left i know the owner is not there and that explain the shitty service and most of the tables are very dirty!!!!

This was my first time here on a trip to San Francisco. The restaurant seemed beautiful l and truly gives us a Mexican Cantina vibe. Upon first entry not every table was being used, so we thought we would have quick service. After a few minutes of waiting, 40 to be exact we noticed that there was one person up front and about only two in the back. For the amount of people in the restaurant it didn't look too bad. Once everything started to kick up a bunch of people came in forming a line outside of about 20 people. The way you order here is you line up outside and then order then you get your table, this caused some trouble due to the long line. The only thing i would fix about this beautiful restaurant is adding more staff, the main 3 people seemed to be extremely stressed. Other than those factors the food was AMAZING and presented extremely professional, prices were about average with a plate of Huevos Rancheros being $14, but knowing this I would most definitely come back.

This was our first time at this restaurant and I have to say it was SOOOO GOOD! Entering the restaurant we got a warm greeting and when I tell you I am particular when it comes to tacos thanks to a vacation in puerto Vallarta lol The tacos here are EXCELLENT! I ordered the Baja fish tacos the fish was fresh battered nice and crunchy and the simple toppings of the slaw with the sauce was amazing! The firecracker shrimp was also amazing but what I was most impressed with was their Al pastor tacos which in my opinion was close to the ones that we've had in Mexico! Drinks was also great but what puts this place at the top is the service everyone that we came into contact with at this restaurant was friendly and made us feel welcome. We will definitely be recommending this place to our family and friends and we will definitely be coming back here this place just gained another frequent visitor lol

I've been here a few times and food is always good. I'd really like to go here one day for happy hour.Food is always on point, no matter how busy.Today we had:1. Nueve carne asada burrito- definitely delicious to the last bite.2. Chicken taquitos- all chicken not just wrapper3. Calamari- nice and crunchy with lime doesn't even need sauce, but does come with like a ketchupmayo sauce. Beware the green sauce is spicy4. Al pastor taco- definitely delicious

Wow I was here a few years ago and it was pretty good. I went the other night and it was terrible. The food was bad, had tortilla soup and some tacos. Nothing was good. Tortillas were old, carne asada was tough and tasteless, soup was just ok. I asked for green salsa and it was so hot it made my food inedible! They didn't even warn about it. Service was pretty much nonexistent. I will never go back.
