Three of us went in for sushi. Poor service, food was mediocre. They provided disposable plates instead of regular ones. Unacceptable for dine in. They were giving priority to takeout customers. Totally neglecting us. We left from this facility feeling we were a nuisance to them. They surcharged a 15% and didn't ask for tips. I would pay more to get a proper restaurant experience. Would not get back and would not order. There are better restaurants around.
Great neighborhood restaurant. They have vegan options. Veggie tempura roll and the avocado and cucumber rolls are delicious. Staff is friendly. Pricing is reasonable. Good for take out.
Very average quality fish here, had to send a couple of things back because of poor taste. Bottom line that would not come here again
Everything I have had here over the years has bin tip top. Service is solid.
Quick in and out over lunch break :) I tried their specialty rolls and basic rolls - specialty rolls were better. Their wasabi was not very strong though.
My daughter and I entered this place for dinner and there were no other customers. When we sat down, the waitress said there was a $22 minimum order amount per person. Then a woman who seemed like the owner or manager (she was sitting at one of the tables with paperwork and was authoritative in how she interacted with us) took over and came over to take our orders. Their bento box dinners were crossed out on the menu, so I ordered a Pork Katsu dinner ($15), to which I added a dragon roll ($14) for my order to go over the $22 minimum. My daughter chose the chirashi bowl that was listed at $21.50; we asked the owner/manager if that was okay since it was close to the $22 minimum, so she said we should instead order the deluxe version which is $5 more to go over the minimum. After a while, a couple walked in and sat down and shortly after, another pair of customers also came in. I noticed that neither party was told about the $22 minimum order amount per person so I whispered to my daughter if she noticed the same thing, to which she said, “no.” Then we both paid attention to what these people ordered, and each person ordered only one item and recalling the menu pricing (which we inadvertently learned about more that we would care in trying to figure out how to meet the $22 minimum order amount per person) these orders were well below that amount.I called over the initial waitress for our bill, which had a subtotal of $61.19 that included tax, but with a grand total of $71.19, so I asked what the extra charge was for and they said it was for the tip! I then asked her why they didn’t impose the $22 minimum order amount per person on the two parties that entered after us and she said that they did. I said, “no, they didn’t and that I heard the entire transaction per party.” Then she said that the other wait person must have stated the $22 minimum order amount per person to these people. So, I then asked each of the two other parties since they sat close by, “Excuse me, did they state to you that there was a $22 minimum order amount per person?” and “Did any of your orders per person amount to $22?” Both parties answered “no” to each of my questions! Then the waitress told me that her employer told her she must tell people that there was a $22 minimum order amount per person. So I said, then why didn’t they impose that on the other customers and that it wasn’t right. It was at that point that she called over her boss. The boss realized what was going on and said I didn’t need to pay the extra $10 for the tip (!?!?) and owed her only the original $61.19! So I basically repeated my protest to the first waitress and said what they did was not right and that we felt forced to order more food than we needed just to meet the $22 minimum order amount per person. So she said, “Okay, okay, I’ll adjust your bill to $40.” Then she left for a moment just as I took two $20 bills out of my wallet and she came back and said, but you’ll actually owe me $44 because of tax (tax of 10% by the way?). So I told her, “you will take this $40 and nothing more, or I will report your business.” After I gave her $40, she actually came back to our table two more times, really angry, trying to justify the $22 minimum order amount per person, saying they didn’t want people coming in and ordering just one sushi roll…can you imagine that! Her outrage actually caused my daughter to start crying so we left.On the value of their food: I had the instinct of going to Akagi, a hole in a wall but by far a better Japanese Restaurant just a few blocks away where you get more value for your money, but decided to stay in Bayhill Shopping Center because my wife was having dinner with her coworkers. The “deluxe” chirashi bowl was so paltry with bits of fish over a lot of rice with plenty of paper thin cucumber slices carefully arranged over the top to hide the lack of fish and for the price of $26.50, you can spend the same amount or less at Akagi in San Bruno or Kamameshi in South San Francisco. My dragon roll was more like a tekamaki roll, for $14?!?
The beef teriyaki is additional $ that I dnt mind but the meet is rubbery I mean hard meat not happy at all but the sashimi is ok.first time to eat here not happy at all I'm a Japanese food person I recommend Nemo Sushi Japanese restaurant far better than others.
Rolls are fresh but tiny. California rolls were pretty good. Tempura could be crispier & more fresh. Rude staff. Eating and talking while trying to get my order situated during Covid. On top of all that the sauces were very basic. Again. Staff isn’t friendly outside of the guy working the register. Bless your soul dude. Wouldn’t go back.
Such good food. Seriously for a quick meal go here.
Great fresh sushi

My wife and I had been coming here for years pretty regularly. In fact it's my wifes favorite sushi spot. (Mine is another place, but I do still really like this one though.)It can get a bit pricybat times but we've never been disappointed with the quality and freshness of the food here.
GREAT!
Sunny Sushi seems friendly and no dine-in COVid19. Wife had salmon teriyaki and I had Bento box with Sashimi(raw fish) and Gyoza(potsticker). Arriving at home, I was surprised at 2 potstickers but the sashimi had 4 slices(2 2salmon2hamachiYellowTailTuna). Menu stated 4 potstickers per order. Sashimi is exceptionally good and countered with Only 2 Gyoza. Restaurant will replace 2 Gyoza but I have to drive and wait and drive back home to eat. No apology and "that happens sometime." Great sashimi, but for over 7 years of business, mistakes like 2 instead of 4 Gyoza should not happen. By the way, I am a first time customer.
We had an amazing experience at this place. We loved the extraordinary environment and the food. The waiters were very affable. I’m happy we ultimately decided to try this restaurant.
First, I love sushi. So when staring down a Carl's Junior yesterday, I spotted Sunny Sushi in the background and slid on by the burger for something my doctor would approve. Sunny is a smallish place with bar seating for maybe 8 and then around a dozen tables. It sits mid way in a strip mall with a CVS and other retail options. So it is by no means a destination restaurant with a great view or anything like that. The menu has all the basics you'd expect include Bento box lunches, a la cart options, etc. I went with the sashimi lunch that came with miso, a small salad, white rice, and then four different cuts of sashimi, two of each cut. I like all of them except one, a fish that was smoked and was tough. So I did not eat that one. Lunch with just a glass of water costs me $23, so it was a LOT more than a burger. But it was better for me. If you find yourself in San Bruno around lunch, and if you like sushi, I would certainly not discourage you from dropping in.
