About Dim Sum Place

Dim Sum Place is a casual, no-frills restaurant that offers a variety of Cantonese-style dim sum and dishes. The setup is simple and convenient, with customers ordering through a tablet kiosk, choosing between dine-in or takeout, and then waiting for their food to be brought to their table or taken away. The dining area is basic, with disposable plates and utensils, giving it a fast-food vibe, and seating can be limited. The atmosphere is very casual, with an ultra-basic layout and a family-run feel, making it a straightforward spot for a quick meal.

The food at Dim Sum Place receives many positive remarks. The dishes are described as having a strong Cantonese flavor, with some favorites including spareribs over rice, pork buns, shrimp/garlic chives, scallop/shrimp dumplings, and the BBQ pork roll, which is highly praised for melting in the mouth. Dumplings like Shrimp Har Gow and Pork Siu Mai are made to order, steaming hot, and fill the wrappers perfectly, with some reviewers noting the generous filling and authentic taste. Corn Fritter is also recommended, pan-fried and not oily, with a sweet corn flavor.

While the drinks are mostly cold, sweetened bottled teas, the food quality is appreciated, and many plan to return, especially for takeout. Some reviews mention slightly fatty pork short ribs and the casual environment, which might not appeal to everyone. Overall, Dim Sum Place is seen as a great, affordable spot for a quick, satisfying meal that captures the essence of Cantonese cuisine in a relaxed setting.

Share your opinion about Dim Sum Place

It’s more like cafeteria style. It’s a bit too casual for me because it’s a dim sum place. You walk up to a screen and punch the items you want and then tap to pay and you pick an available table and the waiter will bring your food from the kitchen. Everything is paper-plated or plastic containered.

Now the positive, the food has a very Cantonese culture to it. I had spareribs over rice, a rice wrap thing, and some real pork buns.

And, oh, no hot tea. ...read full review
