“I just had the vegetarian sweet and sour chicken and it was delicious! They served a complimentary soup that was vegetarian too, but they also have plenty of meat dishes for any non-vegetarians who’d like to eat here. The food came out quickly, and the serve Coco was super helpful!“

“I don't venture out to San Carlos that much, but I was happy to try this Korean-Chinese restaurant! It was nice to find out that there were exclusive dishes that can ONLY be ordered at this location, so we made sure to order at least one of those items.

My favorites were the Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and the Meat Jajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles). Both had very different flavors, but still comforting. The seafood soup had a nice kick to it, but was perfect on that cold night we went. Noodle texture here is also pretty close to perfect with just enough bounce to them.

“Came and found parking around the block. Put our names on the Yelp waitlist and seated in about 15 minutes. Despite how busy it was, the tables did not feel crowded. After scanning the QR code and placing the order, food came out pretty quickly and stayed warm ish on the metal plate in the center of the table powered by 5 tea lights. The stinky tofu came out first and luckily the smell did not linger. We were surprised at how affordable it was. The food did end up over lapping but the flavor profile is more or less the same.“

“I was blown away by the balance of flavors. The Dan Dan Noodles were spicy yet nutty, while the General Tso’s Chicken was perfectly crispy with a touch of sweetness. The Mapo Tofu was creamy with a spicy finish that made the meal unforgettable.“

“The moment you bite into any dish here, you KNOW it's fresh. What I loved the most was that each dumpling had sooo much meat in it and lots of flavor! They even have an open kitchen layout so you can watch them make the dumplings! If dumplings aren't your thing, definitely try their House Special Beef Noodle Soup and be sure to get the Marinated Beef appetizer. The garlic sauce it comes with is so good.

“My favorite Chinese-American casual restaurant. Their house specials I’ve tried have all been great, the Super Savory fried chicken sandwich is outstanding (eat your heart out, Popeye’s), and the beer and cider are interesting, very good, and only $5 each. This is one of the fast casual projects that share the same owner as the Michelin-starred Mister Jiu’s in SF’s Chinatown, and the food quality reflects this.“

“Stopped by The Mandarin Chinese while hoping for some great Chinese food in town. The location was convenient, and the space itself is quite nice, with the added bonus of upstairs seating. Service was smooth; we came on a Friday evening, got seated right away, and dishes arrived in a steady flow.

Unfortunately, the experience was a bit mixed. The sizzling rice soup was disappointing; it came out lukewarm and didn’t sizzle at all, with a watered-down broth. Definitely underwhelming.

That said, the rest of the meal was much better. We ordered Spicy Beef Tendon, Salt and Pepper Tofu, Garlic Snow Pea Leaves, Eggplant in Spicy Sauce, and Kung Pao Chicken. Every dish was flavorful, and the Szechuan-style seasoning really stood out. The beef tendon dish, in particular, looked and tasted great.

Overall, while not everything hit the mark (and prices felt a bit high), the main dishes were strong enough to make it a solid option for Szechuan cravings; just maybe skip the soup.“

“I travelled from Riverside County to come eat at this restaurant and have heard such great reviews about it from my relatives and friends who live all the way in China! It was worth the drive and we will definitely be back again. Each dish is unique and they also have gluten free options as well as requested options. (My f5 year old is Gluten free).The bamboo and mushroom dish had a hint of sweetness with an undertone of spice, the Chong qing 🌶spicy chicken was mouth watering, along with the eggplant 🍆 dish, dry stir fried fish, and glass noodles with pork! I enjoyed every dish and my kids enjoyed their shrimp fried rice dish and greens as well. Our family is a foodie family and we love ❤️ traveling far and near to try dishes from around the world. “Ok it won’t look like much from the outside on ECR and from the rear you park in the alleyway lot and walk past the restrooms and the kitchen but… this place is the bomb. And the chefs are top notch. I feel bad not having good photos except for one dish which came on mini wok with a burner and a dipping sauce. That’s a special lamb dish with vegetables mushrooms and goji berries. They made some unique and delicious food. The staff knows the menu very well and can recommend and they have chef specials on the back of the menu. One set for Chinese and one set for American palette. Both are good and you can’t go wrong. On the wall they post their specials also. For a IYKYK tip - if you bring in your catch they can make it the way you want and charge you “cook-your-catch” fees.“

“Charming Chinese restaurant in Millbrae that focuses on the Sichuan cuisine. The Mapo tofu was delicious, and the cold spicy noodles were superb. Beef noodle soup was surprisingly good as well. Fast and efficient service. Interior is small, so not ideal for large parties. Parking can be challenging, as the free parking lot fills up fast and is shared with several other local businesses.“

“Managed to get a last-minute reservation and felt quite lucky! The restaurant even followed up to confirm our arrival. The service was excellent—they even poured the sake for us. I loved the heated tray on the table that kept our skewers warm; it’s such a thoughtful touch. The menu has plenty of options, and though the place is small, it feels very cozy and atmospheric. The upside-down umbrellas hanging from the ceiling are a unique touch. One thing to note: it’s quite dim inside, so it’s a bit hard to take photos. “Located in downtown San Mateo pretty close to the movie theater parking structure. And it is close to ritual tea, Molly Tea and other bubble tea places, very convenient. I like to come here to get my Malatang fix. The traditional pork bone soup is pretty good and it is not as expensive as the other place in downtown San Mateo. Still offers pretty good variety.“

“Today was my first time trying Chef Wang’s and the food was amazing! My mom usually prefers halal options, so she ordered shrimp fried rice, shrimp chow mein, and sesame shrimp. Recently one of her patients brought food from here to her office, and she loved it so much that she asked where it was from so that’s how we discovered this place.

When we called to place our takeout order, the man on the phone was incredibly kind. The prices were very reasonable, and when I went to pick up the order the woman working there was so sweet. She even added egg rolls on the house, which was such a thoughtful surprise.

The restaurant looked very clean and the tables were set up nicely. It was a little quiet when I went in, which made me a bit sad because it seems like it’s run by a small family. It’s slightly tucked away on the street, but their food truly deserves more attention.

Everything tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. I’m very picky when it comes to Chinese food, but every dish was delicious. I especially appreciate that they use shrimp instead of giant prawns, shrimp has so much more flavor and better texture in my opinion.

“This place is busy, which says a lot for a pre-security location in the International Terminal. It's located on the A-side. If you don't see it, you're probably on the G-side of the international terminal.

“Yan gon is a family own Burmese restaurant on broadway Burlingame. The owner and the entire staff were extremely friendly , attentive , courteous . helpful, and welcoming . Their dishes are delicious . I have tried their Burmese Style Curry Lamb , Singapore Street noodles, Deep fried Chicken Wings , and Wor Wonton Soup. All four dishes were delicious, but my favorite is the won ton soup . This soup is perfect , it's so healthy and brothy. The broth is so rich that left a long lasting mouthwatering and coating sensation lingering in my tongue. The wontons are so tasty , juicy , and flavorful with the right amount of , I believe was pork , ginger , garlic ,chopped onions , sugar, salt , pepper , and shrimps . . The shrimps were very tastey and fresh . It didn't have that strange scent of ammonia or fishy smell like spoiled shrimps . The restaurant is simple , bright , clean , casual ambience with ample seatings. I have been here many times and got seated right away. No wait . “My family and I had a really good dining experience at this place. We went after Christmas and despite the place being packed, they were able to accommodate us without a reservation (We just got lucky). The staff was very nice and accommodating.

We wanted to try the roast duck which was the most recommended dish on the internet about this place but we found out that we had to have called ahead of time and place an order. They did try and see if we can still get it but they didn't have enough stock to serve an unexpected order which is fine.

The next best thing they recommended was the Sweet & Sour Mandarin Fish. Boy was it amazing! It was the perfect blend of sweet and sour. I've had sweet and sour dishes before that can go overboard with the sweet that it makes the dish difficult to finish but this was not one of those. The sauce was just right and nice. The fish itself also was fried really well. Crispy pieces of fish on the outside and tender on the inside. It did not feel oily at all. It went amazing with rice. It wasn't just tasty, the fish was fun to eat too with they way it was cut and prepared. It was a perfect centerpiece dish for the family to share.

I remember we had other dishes too like shrimp and dumplings but I really did love the Sweet & Sour Mandarin fish so it was the highlight for me.

Apart from the food, the ambiance of the restaurant was really nice. The place was clean and well decorated.

The service was great too. Shout out to Suda who took very good care of us during our dinner. She was always there whenever we needed something and we never felt like we needed to wait to be accommodated for something. The best server!

“Really good Chinese BBQ place. All of the bread items we tried were flaky and tasty, highly recommend the brown sugar one. The skewers were all solid, and I appreciated that the beef had a more teriyaki-style flavor, because too much cumin starts to get a bit sameish. In that regard, you should consider getting an order of the lettuce leaves to use as a wrap for the skewers, it's a great palette cleanser and adds some nice texture.

Would love to go again, but it's a bit far from my house and Chinese BBQ isn't something you can do too frequently.“
