At a time when inflation has driven even lame chain fast-food to premium prices, I find myself loving Chaupain bakery more and more. I truly feel like every dollar is well-spent here. Their pastries? This place has the best croissants, so crispy and delicious. I got the butter croissant, almond croissant and a mango and coconut pastry. They were all excellent. Their breakfast menu looks amazing as well. Try this place out if you are in San Clemente.

NOT THE BEST ! My wife and I decided to try this cafe for a lunch sandwich not long back. It was very squeezy inside when we walked in to order at the counter. We ordered a California Club Sandwich ( fresh sliced turkey, crispy bacon, avocado, romaine lettuce, vine ripe tomatoes, pistachio pesto aioli served on fresh baked demi baguette ). We paid upfront and grabbed a table on the sidewalk...no indoor seating. After a few minutes a food runner brought out our lunch sandwich....
