First visit, I had the “famous” wet chili verde burrito. The verde sauce was nicely mild and flavorful. The pork chunks were good quality, no fat or chewy pieces. It’s a big burrito, nice sized serving @ $14.75.
Staff was OK, store clean enough.
I must comment on the pleasant “Mexican music”, seemed to be contemporary, nice to listen to while eating.
Recommended.

I like the chili verde burrito and the la gringa tacos. Price is good for what you get except if you add anything on. I was charged to add sour cream and they literally gave me a teaspoon.

We got the chipotle ribeye tacos, as the menu said that dish was voted number #1 best in OC. We were pretty disappointed. The tacos were drowning in chipotle mayo sauce, which made it difficult to taste the other ingredients in the tacos. The beef was full of gristle bits that we had to spit out pretty frequently. The mild salsa they make in house is very watery. I don’t recommend this place — you’re better off going to Chipotle unfortunately.

Placed a phone order, was told it would be 25min. Showed up 35min later, checked in, and waited another 25min for them to notice my food was sitting on the counter from the moment I got there.
No apology or offer to make it right. Just cold food, bad service, and I won’t be coming back.

Good food, but a rude and aggressive staff member has ruined it for them. I would avoid this establishment unless you want to be spoken down to when ordering lunch.

I preordered and paid for food for a work event and the day of the largest event the “kitchen” staff forgot my full order. They didn’t even allowed me to speak to the manager and they have the worst customer service imaginable.
Hope the manager or owner can reach out to make this right I am a local company and this is just wrong to do.

Really surprised by all the good reviews here. Went out of our way to eat here on our way down to San Clemente. It was extremely flavorless food and really pricey for what is was. Will skip it next time...

Terrible customer service.
Top tier burrito, homemade chips and the habenero salsa is phenomenal! This beats alot of places out of the water!!

Amazing chorizo breakfast burrito. Highly recommend it. They do open a bit late (10am) for breakfast burritos but worth the wait.

When Chelas is good, it’s GOOD. But they’re so inconsistent. For example, in 3 consecutive breakfast burrito orders, they “forgot” steak, hash browns, and cheese. In that order. Another time, they “forgot” guac and sour cream on a bunch of asada fry orders. They’ll beer batter fish when it’s supposed to be grilled, etc. Wish they’d be more consistent.

Order 2 burritos. Ribeye was way too salty and the other burrito did not have steak.
