Coastal Cowboy CA Eats

Seems like a popular place but the food was not good. I ordered fish and chips which lacked any sort of salt. My girlfriend ordered a smash burger which just tasted like pickles. The food lacks any depth of flavor. But it is very clean and seems inviting. If you like bland food you'll be perfectly happy here.

The food here is not nearly good enough to justify the pricing. Prices here are comparable to Nicks which is a 10 second walk across the street and the food is grossly outclassed by not only Nicks but practically every other restaurant on Del Mar. The only way to receive service whether its ordering, getting a refill or asking for a box is to walk up to a counter that has a single employee. This service model would be perfectly acceptable if they weren't charging nearly $30 for some dishes and then giving a minimum tip option of 18% while you have to wait on yourself. Overall the food is totally serviceable, but everything else about the restaurant (pricing, service) guarantees that I won't be returning. You can literally go to any Wahoo's location and get TWO shrimp bowls that would be way more loaded up and taste way better and it would be cheaper than getting a single shrimp bowl here. Also Wahoo's wouldn't ask you for a 22% tip for providing zero service.

Our food was very tasty! Fish & Chips good portion and Qunioa Beet Salad was dee-lish. Service is excellent. They demonstrate care for your choosing them to dine with.

My fiancée and I stopped in for lunch and had the Southwest Chicken Santa Fe Wrap and the Carne Asada Tacos, and both were absolutely amazing. The wrap was packed with flavor, and the carne asada tacos were fresh and delicious. The chips that came with the wrap had what tasted like a slight hint of cinnamon (I could be wrong), but either way they were incredibly tasty and a great touch. The only small suggestion I would have is to maybe include a side like rice, beans, or even some tortilla chips to go along with the tacos. Other than that, everything about our experience was fantastic, and we would definitely come back again.

Great health food options. No seed oils, stainless drinking cups and beef tallow for frying. Also so many gluten free options! I’d like the fries to be a little more crispy and the fish seasoned before breading and frying on the fish and chips, the double smash burger was delicious!

Amazing experience! We came here for lunch today with a service dog and seated on the beautiful patio. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout our meal. After a stressful encounter at another local spot, we really appreciated Coastal Cowboy’s professionalism and great service. Highly recommend for great food and a veteran-friendly atmosphere!

First time trying Coastal Cowboy. Southwest Chicken Wrap was one of the best wraps I’ve ever had period. Huge plus for grilling the wrap!!! Nothing worse than a raw tortilla. Make sure to get the house made hot sauce too!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place.

First, location! Wow and to have indoor and outdoor seating is a huge plus.

Second, the staff! Especially the young kids. Never had bad service and recently met Justin F. who was taking care of pretty much everyone. Savanah, what a breath of fresh air she is!! She made sure I wasn’t forgotten about with my to go order.

Third, the food. So much freshness in every single bite. Highly recommend, everything.

First timer. Great selections of tacos, smash burgers, etc! Gluten free buns and bread! Great helpful staff. A great choice for food.
