Linda, the owner, greeted us with a warm welcome. Apparently New Mandarin Garden restaurant has been around for forty years in San Clemente. I'm not sure if they've been in the same location for forty years but Linda's service was swift and was very accommodating with our special FURBALL guest. The food, as reviewed by many, was delicious and gave us more than a plate full. The restrooms were super clean. Since today was a rainy Easter day we opted to be in an area where Linda had allowed us to have our furball companion be with us. So super nice of the owner and again, so super accommodating! So call ahead (Jason, I think he's Linda's son gave us permission to bring our furball friend with us) to find out if you could bring your furball with you. Other than that if you're looking for good value with lots of food and be able to bring your furball, I think this New Mandarin Garden is one of the best restaurant in San Clemente!

The food is good, but the service is absolutely terrible, if not, atrocious. The staff speaks and understands very limited English that makes communication very difficult. We asked for the bill and it came written in Chinese making it impossible to figure out. This took upwards of 10 minutes before we knew what we owed. The prices are quite high even by California standards. Also parking is EXTREMELY limited. Try and find some other Chinese restaurants and avoid this one.

What ever you do DO NOT ORDER via Door Dash. They charge you a fee after the fact and don't disclose it at all. Sending this to the Orange County District Attorney's Office for them to investigate.

Combination fried rice is my usual go-to. It's really good here. I took a flyer and ordered from here. I took two bites in the car and immediately went back in and ordered one more for the road.I can't speak for anything else, but if the fried rice is this good, everything has to be good.Also, good, prices. Combination fried rice was $13, whereas you're likely paying $15+ anywhere else.

We dined in for lunch and had kung pao shrimp, honey walnut shrimp, and the cream cheese wonton appetizer. We were very happy with the experience and felt it was an excellent value. Nothing fancy; a real mom and Pop shop. Use navigation because it's a little tricky to find.

Mongolian beef was not very good. Very chewy and was ready within mins. Almost like it was microwaved. Would not recommend.
I’ve been here twice in my vacations and i LOVE IT, my bf and i order different food and all has been great in flavor and they serve more than decent amount the people are very nice they have a lot of take out which means all the food is very fresh .
Here's what we did with $60 worth of food. The food taste like trash. How this place is in business is beyond me. How anyone gave this place a good rating I'd mind boggling. This isn't chinese food. I feel nauseated and wish I could get back my money and stomach balance.Disgusting!

Delicious food, spectacular costumer service! We were served generous portions and the lady who was serving us was very attentive and helpful! She even packed our leftover food for us! More than that, I was fortunate enough to witness an incredible act of kindness! The man from the kitchen helped an elderly woman take her to-go order to her car, along with a delicious meal I was served a heartwarming experience! 10/10 would go again!
