Sonny's Pizza & Pasta

Always so delicious. The staff is so kind. We got pizzas this time. The time before we got chicken parm & chicken Alfredo. SO yummy.

We had heard from San Clemente residents that Sonny's was the place for pizza in SC. There was no wait for a table, and the service was great. I'm originally from PA, and to me, nothing compares to the crunchy crust pizza back there. But I must say that the sauce on Sonny's pizza was delicious! The crust is really thin. On the whole, the pizza was worth the trip to SC.

It’s been 9 years since our first visit and that photo (not amazing, but shameless plug) has 2.7 million views to date. We returned this weekend after a few years and as expected, we were greeted by a friendly staff and the food was just as amazing as our first visit. Great atmosphere and great people. A mandatory stop for us in San Clemente. Ciao

I have lived in San Clemente for 40 years, and I always considered Sonny's one of the best Italian restaurants I ever ate at. The service and atmosphere is still the same which is outstanding, however, this time the wine selection and the food was mediocre at best. I was surprised and disappointed 😟

We waited 50 minutes for our food, and saw four tables that came after us get served before us. Our server brought our food out to another table and never once checked on us. No manager or other staff checked in on us while we waited. We flagged her down and she realized she brought our food to another table - so she went over to their table, picked up the food, then brought it to us and asked if we wanted it. “They didn’t touch it” was what she said. She offered to have the kitchen remake the dish, but after waiting an hour we were so hungry. She then cleared our plates quickly when there was still food on them and said “well clearly you enjoyed it” - as if the service was good because we ate food when we were hungry for an hour.

I work in hospitality and have never had such an unpleasant, unprofessional, and unsanitary experience.

It’s cute, but there are better pizza and pasta places elsewhere.

Don’t think about it, just come! Especially for a date or with just family or a friend. I just want to take my time to express how awesome this restaurant is. My friend (who I claim has a bad taste in food) was with me. We were nearby so we decided to come for my first time. Our server Bianca (shout out to her) was amazing and recommended me the meal we had. I’m so sorry if I butcher the name, pictures will be added but the pizza was amazing and the pasta even better! I remember the pasta started with Rigatoni, and the pizza was B- something LOL I’ll look it up after and edit the name. I just want to say I need to come back here, and try it with sausage as Bianca recommended us. I can definitely see how that would be amazing. This pasta was something I used to get when I was a kid somewhere else but elevated to another level. You guys have another fan and I just want to express my gratitude. 🙏🏼
