This place has become my new favorite and go to coffee spot. Coffee is great, food is delicious(Cove, breakfast burrito are my favorites)and the people are awesome. Sabrina and Lorenzo are always very welcoming, and remember my name and order every time. Great spot!

We walk to Achilles all the time to read and work on the weekends! The coffee drinks, pourovers, and iced tea are great. The food tastes really fresh and the NY bagels are delicious. We are very grateful for their presence in Carmel Valley!

Courtney and Sabrina are awesome! They’re always really friendly and ready to assist. The food is delicious, and the service is top-notch. I've visited when it’s been crazy busy, and they handle the hustle effortlessly.

I live nearby and this is definitely my favorite place around! Food is delicious (great NY style bagels and I’m from NYC), service is great (shoutout to Sabrina and Lorenzo), and the space is always clean with lots of places to sit inside and out! Highly recommend 🤩

Coffee was good. I got breakfast there and I don't know why the cook doesn't know that potatoes take longer to cook than eggs. Raw potatoes in my food.

Came here to do some reading/writing. Flavorful Flat White in house cup in a sunny orange. Mellow vocals playing. Friendly staff. Easy parking.

Pros : Coffee and Acai bowl, clean store
Cons: Customer service. I think I got them on a bad day. I asked for utensils for my acai bowl and she handed it to me saying a back handed remark.
Also her one of the workers, female with glasses from this morning’s shift saying “they’re dumb”.
Customers can hear everything and she lacked professionalism. Doesn’t matter what you’re talking about.
💡 I recommend having to-go utensils on the customer side or by the walls. Also if people ask for To-go food, please give them utensils too instead of having us ask for them.
Also recommend a pick up counter for food as when our name was called, there isn’t a clear place to get it and just trying to find the person who called the name. Thanks.

I’m annoyingly picky with my coffee and this was great.
Nice people, bright airy shop, clean, good sandwiches, good coffee. $5 for a large cup of pour over is a great deal. Always enjoy spending time here, the vibes are peak.

The staff was super friendly, and this turned out to be such a great spot to study and work. The atmosphere was lively, and I had a latte along with a jalapeño red pepper bagel with cream cheese—both were delicious. The entire menu looked amazing, so I’ll definitely be back to try more items. Plenty of parking available too, which is a big plus!

SENSATIONAL SERVICE ! I've known about Achilles Coffee Roasters for years but we have never been to a location because the initial 3 coffee shops were all in Downtown San Diego. But recently I noticed a couple of new locations close to where we now live in La Jolla. On Saturday we decided to try these guys for lunch but ruled out the Solana Beach spot because it has no indoor seating..and it was a chilly day so Carmel Valley was our pick. After parking our wheels in the public parking lot we headed inside around 1pm....the place looked pretty busy. After checking out the menu board on the wall my wife stood in a short line while I nabbed a table away from the open door....very windy. A very cheerful cashier named Drea looked after us when we ordered 1 x MT LAGUNA SANDWICH ( turkey, bacon, white cheddar, heirloom, spinach, fig jam served on toasted ciabatta ) to share on 2 plates and 2 x CORTADOS with 2 % milk & house made hazelnut syrup. We paid upfront and Drea handed my wife a table number...for the sandwich. GREAT ! Within a few short minutes a young guy delivered our delicious looking lunch sandwich cut in 2 neat halves with 2 plates. I walked over to the counter to check on our Cortados....and there they were on 2 wooden trays together with little glasses of water. HOW CUTE ! Someone has been to Italy because most espresso bars serve sparkling water with the espresso drinks. OOPS ! And we don't like sparkling water. In fact we learn to ask for still water while traveling in Italy and Paris. And this was sparkling water so the barista took them back....we already had plastic cups of water on our table. ALL SET ! We now had our Cortados and our lunch sandwich on our table. The Mt Laguna Sandwich tasted well made...not a fan of heirloom tomatoes so that came off. GOOD JOB ! Our cortados tasted very good...as good as I make them at home. Thank you barista / cashier Drea. GOOD VIBE ! It certainly looked like a busy coffee shop with a steady flow of customers coming and going while we were enjoying lunch...and not too many laptoppers hoggin' tables to themselves. WE'LL BE BACK !
