Ali's Chicken & Waffles

I can only review the food, because it was delivery so here we go. I'm sorry, but I can't get behind the hype of this place that I'm seeing in the reviews. I got three medium spiced chicken strips, a waffle and fries. I also got one of the waffle sandwiches. Neither the waffle, nor the chicken had any flavor. Just Bland. The chicken strips were cooked very nice, they were moist and tender. Just no flavor. I was looking forward to this punch of flavor on my tongue as soon as I took a bite and was left wanting. Again, great cook, no taste. I gave it a three because it wasn't bad, it was average.

A hidden gem, best to order on the go.. parking here is a bit hard as it is located in a busy part of the city. The location shares its doors with a donut shop so don’t feel misguided. Overall the food here is good! I had a Thai tea and spicy chicken sandwich combo. Cooked to order so if you are in a rush I suggest you place your order over the phone. 7/10 I would recommend to friends.

THE BEST chicken and waffles I’ve ever had, tender, seasoned chicken, soft waffles, and amazing sauces to top it off. You NEED to get extra coconut syrup, it takes it to a whole other level. Don’t forget about the fries, they are also seasoned perfectly and top any fast food restaurant. If you haven’t been here, I’m so sorry, you have not experienced life yet. I only come down to San Diego once a year, and this is a must stop. Plus this location is joined with a donut star, which has some of the best donuts I’ve had too! Only downside is that it’s a small shop, so they ran out of utensils when we were there.

The food was great. The shop shares space with a doughnut shop and it's a bit small so there isn't a lot of seating available so we got our food to go. Simple menu, good food, will definitely be going back.

Great food. Nice people. Hope they get to expand one day. They share the location with a donut shop which is fine, but the shopping center they're in is dirty and has the homeless outside asking for change day and night. This great little spot could likely get more attention if it werent hidden in the back of a unkempt street corner. But as a little business they are making the best of a bad location. Just posting to let ppl know what youre gonna see if you want to vist. Try not to be put off. The food is worth it.

Truly a hidden treasure. The best chicken sandwich in San Diego. I've been here many many times and each and every time the chicken is perfectly crispy and the fries are amazing. Price point is really good compared to competition for what you get. The service is great - friendly staff and they take pride in what they do. Love this place!

The chicken is good 100% of the time, the waffles are good too. The fries though, most of the time are dry even when they're still warm, within a few minutes they're dry, cold and just nasty.

Great food! The Thai chili oil in the spicy chicken sandwich is unmatched! Mac n cheese was good - just runny, cheese didn't really cling nor have that stretch to it. Collards were amazing!

Oh my goodness. We had the best waffle sandwich ever. Completely devoured and immediately satisfied. The coconut syrup with the Chick-in-Waffle sandwich is everything I wanted yesterday. Definitely coming back!
