I went for my birthday in September, it was a great experience. Everything was phenomenal, my favorite was the wagyu

We shared our anniversary dinner here with some friends and had a wonderful experience. The food was great and creative, the wine pairings were wonderful and the staff was amazing. You should note that the restroom is outside and downstairs so not very accessable.

Once again everything was outstanding. Warm, elegant and beautiful. From being greeted like visiting cherished family to “see you next time!” staff is amazing. It feels like your having dinner at a close friends house who just happens to be a 5 star chef as well as 5 star staff.

A truly outstanding dinner at Ambrogio by Acquerello. The service, led by Mariana, was warm and attentive and the food was superb — creative and delicious. It's not cheap but it's worth every penny considering the care in preparation. It's truly art on display. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a unique fine dining experience.

My rating on the service was low and directed towards the manger. She was rude and very impatient with me on my understanding of the drinks that they offered. It wasn't me as the rest of my party apologized about the experience clearly blaming her attitude. There should not being any attitude directed at a paying customer. The rest of the staff was amazing.

Everything was beautiful and tasty and it made for a nice Valentine's dinner. However my expectations were very high on taste and they were only really met on two of the many courses, the remainder were merely good or interesting.

I recently re-experienced an extraordinary dining affair at Ambrogio by Acquerello in La Jolla, and it again exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was enchanting, setting the perfect tone for a romantic evening. We had been introduced to the restaurant when it was known as Semola and looked forward to experiencing Michelin starred Chef Silvio Salmoiraghi and Chef Choi Cheolhyeok creations. The attentiveness to detail from the staff was impeccable. Every gesture, from the warm welcome to the attentive service throughout the evening, made us feel truly cherished. But what truly stole the show was the highest quality of food presented to us. Each dish was a masterpiece, meticulously crafted with flavors that danced on the palate. It was evident that only the finest ingredients were used, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs. We had the pleasure of experiencing their Valentine's Day Prix Fixe dinner last year, and it was a culinary journey like no other. Each course was a delightful surprise, perfectly complemented by the sommelier's selections. In summary, Ambrogio by Acquerello is the epitome of fine dining. If you're looking for an unforgettable gastronomic experience where every detail is perfected, look no further. I can't wait to return and indulge in their culinary delights again.

I loved the experience that going to this restaurant provided. The restaurant was very cozy and intimate. Service was great! Never needing anything and always happy to answer all my questions. The server was very knowledgeable about wines and how to best pair them with the menu. The ingredients tasted so fresh, the Raviolo Aperto was my favorite dish!

I appreciate what this restaurant is trying to do and love that they offer the vegetarian option. The food was overall good, servers were knowledgeable about the menu, wine was excellent. I would, however, have expected much greater attentiveness and prompt service in this type of restaurant. It's a creative option for San Diego and a pleasant experience, but I think the execution doesn't quite meet the concept.

My wife and I had an amazing meal. The winter menu was perfect. Mariana and Jonathan provided exceptional service that made the experience so much better. Highly recommend. Seasonal menu... so, we are definitely coming back in the Spring.

Fortunate to reserve Christmas Eve dinner. Excellent food, wine selection, ambiance, wait staff. All around a phenomenal experience with vegetarian menu option. Highly recommend and look forward to visiting their sister restaurants.

The most incredible dinner of my life! I loved everything about their tasting menu, from the creativity to the unique flavor combinations! My favorite dish was the scallops saffron and gold, my friend loved the Japanese wagyuService was awesome and the wine pairing even better

Aspirational at best. The pre-fixe menu had tons of flavor but consistently fell short. Several of the dishes were served lukewarm & maybe that was the goal, but it didn't deliver. Courteous staff, but don't ask for more bread. That will cost you an additional $12, which is pricey considering the prefixe is already $150/person. The caviar addition for $65 is also far from worth it when added to a kinda dry risotto. The $95 truffle pasta however is closer to worth the additional markup. The wagyu was the best of the offerings & was very good. Don't mean to harp on the price of things, just didn't come close to delivering the experience we hoped for.
