Annapurna Indian Cuisine in San Diego, California offers a delightful dining experience, whether it's a hosted lunch buffet or an à la carte dinner. The restaurant has a warm and family-friendly atmosphere.
At the lunch buffet, diners can enjoy a wide variety of dishes, such as the tamarind chutney with its bold flavor, warm and soft naan and poori, flavorful okra pakoda, and the perfect texture and taste of spinach dal. The eggplant potato curry and channa masala are standouts. Vegetarians will be pleased with the extensive plant-based options. The way they are refilled in small portions keeps food fresh and warm. Naan was soft and well made. The lunch buffet is a true gem, with every dish a burst of authentic flavors and perfectly spiced biryani's. The selection was diverse and impeccably prepared. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The clean and inviting atmosphere added to the overall enjoyment.
For those ordering à la carte, dishes like Masala Vada, Masala Dosa, Vegetable Biryani, Malai Kofta, Gobi Manchurian, Bisi Bele Bath, Onion Naan, and Garlic Naan are highly recommended. Personal favorites include aloo gobi, goat curry, and chicken dum biryani. The good lunch buffet has balanced options for both veg and non-veg. Wide food spread with chana puri, idlis, paneer, chicken, lamb naan etc. etc. A couple of yummy desserts. Slightly on the milder side but pickle helps bridge that gap. They do include hot Indian tea.
