About Barra Oliba

Barra Oliba is a top-notch Spanish restaurant in San Diego, offering exceptional service and high-quality food in an intimate setting. The menu features fresh and tasty tapas, including standouts like sea bass, tartare, oysters, octopus, gambas, pulpo, croquetas, platos de queso, and patatas bravas. The main courses, like steak and rice, are equally impressive. The wine list is spectacular, and the sommelier's pairing recommendations are a must-try. Guests have noted the warm and welcoming atmosphere, with helpful and kind staff members who enhance the dining experience. Although it is on the expensive side, with an estimated cost of at least $100 per person for drinks, food, and dessert, the quality of the experience is highly praised. Be sure to save room for the divine ice cream and olive oil dessert, along with other delightful options like cheesecake and chocolate sourdough bread. Barra Oliba is a hidden gem in Little Italy, perfect for anyone who appreciates authentic Spanish cuisine.

I had the pleasure of dining with my son and daughter in law the day after Christmas. The food was superb and the service was fantastic. Shout out to Mario. We really enjoyed the Tuna sampler, the artichoke confit and the roasted leeks. My daughter in law loved the pork chop too. The goat cheese cheesecake with pomegranate was a perfect end to a perfect experience. Thank you!!

My waiter German was amazing. Provided amazing recommendations- octopus and steak tartar.
Guidance was amazing with the wine I wanted- Vatan Toro. Heavy body with amazing legs.
I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

As someone who used to live in Spain I always miss the food from there. In San Diego this is as close as it gets to the real deal. The food is delicious. The owners are passionate about Spanish cuisine, and the kitchen/service staff are incredible. Lastly the Spanish wine collection on hand is top tier.
