The best boba ever! We buy boba here at least one time a week. It’s weird that they have such moderate google reviews score, as they are perfect.
The taste was good I got 25% sugar, it tasted a bit watered down i usually more dense Boba drinks maybe it was just the one I selected. I got the strawberry Yakult i would compare it to a strawberry lemonade without the lemon, less concentrated and with Yakult yogurt, you can't really taste the yogurt or the consistency of it which is good if you just want the probiotics in the drink but not the taste of the yogurt.
Boba is insanely high quality, and all the workers are super nice a friendly especially Trinton phung, always lifts my mood!
the tea was fine, but so many mistakes were made when ordering! we had to make several changes afterwards when we found a drink we didn't order in the receipt, and the temperature and sugar levels were all wrong, feeling bad for the customer waiting in line (gladly refund was very quick) maybe a kiosk will make things easier for everyone?
Terrible service, mediocre drinks. One of the male cashiers has the worst ever attitude anyone could imagine
I’ve been drinking this for my whole UCSD and community college career, been drinking the same “jasmine super fruit cup” all the time, every week. Shout out to my favorite staff Ozzy, always hook me up with little “surprise” in the drink sometimes.
Been drinking this for last two years, at least twice a week, the best fruit tea in San Diego, no doubt. And a big thank you to my favorite store manager Han, she’s very very very nice, this will be my only Boba place if I could get chance to stay in San Diego for rest of my life.
Psst, the best milk tea in San Diego is at BenGong in UTC. Han is a top notch barista with delicious milk tea mojo (that's her pictured in front of the store). For those who love a strong black tea, go for their Dai Hong Pao Milk Tea. It has a rich and fragrant tea flavor and is especially delicious hot! When I'm craving something cold, I go for the Tea Cube Special Milk Tea at half sugar and it's a perfect balance of tea and creaminess. Some milk tea places the creamer isn't very high quality--no scrimping here, it's satisfyingly creamy yet the milky-ness does not overpower the tea flavor. Their Peach Oolong Milk Tea with Cream Top is another tasty alternative when you're in a creamy fruit craving but still need that hit of good ole black tea. If you're not sure about a drink just ask and Han is happy to explain the drink's flavor profile.
This December they started giving out these cute insulated bags when you order two drinks or more. Also be sure to follow their Instagram to get advance access to special edition drinks! There's often a line at peak times on weekends, but it's worth it!
I’ve been coming to BenGong’s Tea for two years now, and even though there are many different boba tea brands, I still drive across town just for their drinks. The staff here are incredibly friendly and always go above and beyond. For example, when I asked them to prepare my drinks in a way I could enjoy them the next day, they thoughtfully separated the boba into different cups to keep it from hardening if I froze my tea.
This shows how much they care about the quality of their drinks. They use real fruits and avoid artificial ingredients, which makes all the difference in taste. BenGong’s Tea truly stands out, and I can’t recommend them enough!
Omg!! The Pistachio milk slush is so good!!! I'm obsessed with it. Taste is smooth, not to sweet
Han is the best barista I ever met, so nice and friendly. I appreciate the drinks she recommends, never disappoints. She makes me want to visit again and again whenever I want something to drink.

BenGong's Tea? More like BenGong’s Milk Shack. I ordered a jasmine milk tea at 50% sweet with less ice, and what did I get? A sad, flavorless cup of milk. Where was the jasmine? Did it run off? Did they forget this is supposed to be a tea shop? The drink was so bland, I had to double-check that I wasn’t accidentally handed a cup of plain dairy. Absolutely unacceptable. Save your money and go anywhere else because this place clearly has no idea how to make tea. Oh and their "sparkling teas" is just Shasta club soda.
Great drinks, bad service. Despite being tall with glasses, the cashier couldn’t see that my group of three was in line longer than this random girl standing next to us glued to her phone. Oblivious customer and cashier! Edit: I did let them know once we were finally called up, but of course no one cared
This place is the worst. One of the guys with an earrings is the rudest guy ever. The milk tea also sucks. Don’t try this place.
70% ice and they don't let you adjust ice level
The Mango pomelo sago and Uji matcha boba milk tea were so good!
