A perfect dining experience ! We were greeted by three lovely women who found a wonderful little intimate table for us outside . The waiter was attentive. I ordered trout almondine with spinach risotto, which was absolutely scrumptious. I haven't tasted fabulous in a while.!!! My husband had the rigatoni Bolognese, which he wanted to just lick the plate and he's not a big eater. We really wanted to have dessert. They looked amazing except the portions are abundant, and we didn't leave room , consistently well prepared all the time.! next time, can't wait to go back.
Usually love Bernini's so we picked it to celebrate a birthday. Food was luke warm, service was extremely poor. We had to request everything! I think they may be understaffed. We were seated in back of a loud party which also impacted the celebration.
Food was fantastic - the service, length of time and attendance, could have been better. Overall, I would go back based on the food alone
Antonio was the best! Super professional and kind. I also called to move my reservation 15 min, and they were very kind to adjust it
Food was very good. Service was very good. Only issue was we asked for no nuts on anything for entire group because of a food allergy. Two items came out with nuts on them.
Very enjoyable. First time for us, and we really liked it. Cocktails were a hit--the Ghost Pepper Tequila Margarita and the Strawberry Martini were both good, the former being spicy as advertised, and the martini well blended and not too sweet. Blistered Shisito peppers were delicious with the occasional one outlier being spicy enough to get your attention, but not quite hot enough to wreak havoc on your taste buds. Squid Ink pasta with scallops and shrimp were flavorful and cooked to perfection as was the Shrimp Diavolo. The mud pie desert was big enough for 4 people. We will definitely be back!
The food was the best it has ever been, not sure if there is a new chef, whatever the change was, the food was beautifully presented, and it tasted great! Beet salad was wonderful, loaded with multicolored beets, strawberries, goat cheese, nuts over arugula lettuce. In the past, I ordered this same dish and complained as it appeared it was heavy on the lettuce and had to hunt for the other toppings. We had the meat lover's pizza which was amazing, which included very tasty short rib meat. In the past we ordered this same dish and had commented on the very minimal application of the meat and almost unidentifiable short rib meat. The wait staff was wonderful, and the cost was also worth every penny Good Job Bernini's ! We will be back
Highly recommend. Food was excellent (we had salmon, pasta, burger, etc); everybody loved their dinner. Staff is always nice. Hardest part is always finding parking, but it's worth it.
Excellent service, orders came out fast, food was delicious! They even gave my daughter a special dessert for her birthday, on the house!
Needed a place close to the Comedy Store and this fit the bill. My friend had the ahi salad which was delicious and I had the mussels that were large and great. The mussels were served in a lovely tomatoe broth along with a lg amount of fries. Instead of fries, it would have been nice to have a tasty, crusty bread to sop up and fully enjoy the tomatoe broth- you can get fries anywhere 😬. It was lovely to sit outside and the service was top Notch and friendly

Delightful dinner had by all. Service by Tony was exceptional. Wonderful food, and special evening.
Berninis a hidden gem in La Jolla. All us locals know about it and I personally would like to keep it that way. The owner is a lovely lady who has a wonderful, friendly manner and never hesitates to say hello. The food is consistently delicious. The table servers are friendly. We always enjoy our dining experience.
Lovely restaurant. Good food and price was as would usually expect. Great hamburger and pizza.
We had dinner here on our last night in La Jolla. Loved the greenery wall in our little section of the restaurant, and the pretty chandeliers. Only about 3 other tables in this area. The other two enjoyed the pizza they shared, and I really liked the small sweet walnut salad I got along with the focaccia bread. No one liked the garlic bread that was touted to be mounds of parmesan made like a pizza, and was very thin and too hard, maybe overbaked? And the parmesan was just the powder type. Overall, we were very happy with our meals.
Dylan and his outstanding staff provided a terrific experience for our special ladies’ dinner. The servers were so attentive and hospitable, and the food was absolutely divine. The pasta dishes were quite generous, and honestly the most delicious I’ve had in town. We look forward to dining at Bernini’s again soon!
