Terrible Servis, It's just terrible to teach the staff to communicate with visitors.

While waiting for the shops nearby to open, I had a breakfast Winter Latte and a grilled sandwich. Both were delicious and I appreciated the good balance of coffee and milk in the latte. The premises are nicely decorated with sufficient seating for a moderate crowd to be seated. This is a wonderful place to catch a coffee break with a bite to eat!

TERRIBLE customer service. No situational awareness. No sense of urgency. It was like 20 people in line and they took their precious time. Kept walking away from register. Nothing prepared. Will never come back. Do yourself a favor and go to La Colombe around the corner. Better customer service and experience.

Stopped by Blue Bottle today. Atmosphere was awesome, like always. I ordered a pour-over and asked about the beans, just wanting to know the origins. The barista only said “light or dark” and didn’t seem to know more. They weren’t busy, so it felt a little off for Blue Bottle. Coffee was great, though. Just hoping the staff knows the beans a bit better next time.

Emily is a particularly engaging individual who goes out of her way to make the client feel welcomed and special even in a busy holiday season. I hope she gets a raise for the superlative A+ service she provides to guests raising the bar and demanding clients come back

I’m an architect, and I just had one of the most bizarre and racist experiences I’ve ever encountered at this Blue Bottle Coffee in La Jolla.

After spending over $40 on coffee for me and my girlfriend, the manager told me to leave because I was “looking around too much.” I had simply been admiring the ceiling details (as architects naturally do) when she came over and asked, “Why do you care so much about the ceiling?”

I told her I was an architect and just enjoying the building details while waiting for my coffee to brew. Her response:
“Okay, if you’re waiting for your coffee, I’ll just give it to you so you can leave. I can’t have you looking around here.”

For context: No one else in the café was treated that way. This was a pretty humiliating experience and felt discriminatory. My gf, my dog, and I had to leave the store despite paying and tipping everyone at the kiosk before hand.

Blue Bottle, you should be ashamed that this kind of behavior is happening in one of your stores. I supported your shops for years, but that ends today, unfortunately.

Blue Bottle Coffee at Westfield UTC in San Diego is a cozy spot for coffee lovers who appreciate high-quality brews made with care and precision. One of the highlights of this location is their wide selection of coffee options, from classic pour-overs and cold brews to espresso-based drinks like lattes and cappuccinos. They also offer a variety of seasonal drinks, which add an element of freshness and creativity to their menu.

The coffee itself is nothing short of excellent—smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. Whether you prefer a strong single-origin espresso or a lighter, fruitier pour-over, there’s something to suit every coffee enthusiast’s palate. They even offer bags of their freshly roasted beans for purchase, so you can recreate the Blue Bottle experience at home.

However, one downside of this location is the lack of outlets for charging devices. While the atmosphere is clean and modern, it’s not the best place to settle in for a long work session or recharge your laptop or phone. This could be a bit frustrating for those who are looking for a spot to work or study while enjoying their coffee.

That said, Blue Bottle at Westfield UTC is a fantastic choice if you’re looking for expertly crafted coffee and a quick break from shopping. Just don’t expect to stay too long if you’re relying on your devices to get things done!

Slowest coffee shop on earth. Gotta order your coffee the night before to have it ready in the morning … maybe. And they charge you extra for medium roast.
