Host and server were very nice. Street parking only. Get there as early as you can as they fill up fast. Prices were a bit high as it is La Jolla after all. Outside you can smell the sea Lion waste. Food was ok. My fav was the jam for my toast.

This place was a great experience. As far as a view- cant disappoint with La Jolla cove. Lots of seals/birds to see. Really cool. I guess parking can be a problem but not for us. We were seated right away with an amazing seat on the balcony. Server was very helpful and nice. Food arrived quickly and was delicious with perfect portions.

Always one of my favorite places to do any low key and intimate celebrations. My go to for Birthday celebrations with close friends. Love the Coast Toast! All items in the menu are yummy

Amazing place! I couldn't believe there wasn't a line to wait. Very nice patio and view of the ocean while we ate. Very decent prices

We've been here several times over the years. The most disappointing was this afternoon when we came for a late breakfast. Food -2 stars. Crab ipanema Benedict was terrible. Crab was flavorless. Egg was closer to hard boiled. Salmon omelette was somewhat better but the potatoes were clearly some reheated leftovers. Coast toast looked nothing like what is pictured on Yelp. Service - 4 stars. Friendly and responsive, but I would've appreciated the restaurant going the extra mile to do something to acknowledge our little daughter's birthday (which the server was aware of). Ambiance - 4 stars. Our table with a view was nice. Amenities were clean, nothing fancy. Overall - 2 stars. Parking, traffic and the stench from the nearby cove demand that the overall experience be better for customers. Sadly we won't be returning and will no longer recommend this establishment to our many friends who visit the La Jolla area.

We like the laid back ambiance. The View if you get lucky to be outside. I got the Carne Benedict. The green sauce is good. My son got the burger. For us, the beef is bland.

Banana Foster French toast and Eggs Benedict are the go-to! Beautiful view if you can grab a patio spot!

Food was ok, not great however. The bigger issue we had is their business practice which we felt was deceptive. At the bottom of the menu in teeny tiny print was a statement that they add a 3.99% fee to your check to pay for the benefits increase voted on by the majority of people. That is not an accurate statement, the people did not vote on it. Second, we do not do business with any company that wants to charge their customers for offering benefits to their employees. You are the one in business, the majority of benefits are not required for you to offer such as medical, 401k, pto or vacation time, paid holidays, dental, vision. The only mandatory benefit your have to legally provide is sick time, and that was NEVER voted on by the people, it was mandated. And it's your cost to bare, not your customers. But the more overriding concern is how they fail to adequately notify you of this practice of yours. There is not one sign on the hostess stand when you walk in, and it is not printed in a way to get your attention. The menu is printed in large clear font, but this statement of theirs is at the bottom of the menu in micro size font, and is not bolded or even in regular font color, is a shaded faded font. The average person will never catch it, we did not see it until our asked our server why was there a charge on our check? That's when they pointed it out to us, the server we had told us he gets a lot of complaints about it. The table next to us overheard our conversation and told the server they would not be back. Neither will we.

We came here for Restaurant Week. Best to come extra early to find parking. Parking here is rough. Luckily for us we found parking right across from the restaurant. You'll be a little turned off by the smell after you park, but when seated there's enough of a breeze that the smell doesn't bother you. Our server was great. She was friendly, timed our next meal perfectly. Our appetizers were the clam chowder and crab cakes. Clam chowder was good. Had I a little curry taste to it. It was different. The crab cakes were delicious. I would definitely get that again. Our entrees were the lobster campanelle and chimuchurri hanger steak. The lobster pasta was Alfredo like. Soo much lobster. I like it, it was good. My bf said he liked his hanger steak. He kept commenting on how good the potatoes that came with it was good. For dessert, I had the bread pudding and my bf had the coast toast. Breading had a little spice in it. I liked it. It was unexpected but good. The coast toast is like a French toast. Very custardy. It came with ice cream. If you're lucky enough to get a seat outside the view is great. It was nice to see the sun set around the corner. We had a great experience here.

Amazing views were enjoyed from the porch patio on a quiet weekday.Ordered clam chowder, crab cakes and Lobster Campenelle.(Maine Claw & Knuckle, Wild Mushroom Spinach Porcini Bechamel)The lobster was the highlight. Big meaty portions, great mushrooms and delicious sauce. Sat there, enjoyed the meal, took in a beautiful view and had good service.

Great quality food and fantastic service and atmosphere. We sat outside and had a lovely view of the water. You can hear the sea lions too! I recommend the Big Bad Wolf bowl.. the eggs are steamed and super fluffy ? ? love that it isnt oily! The potatoes are flavored perfectly underneath all the amazing protein. Sauce on the side is fantastic bc I am very much a dipper! The Coast Toast is a must! Now this is the best I french toast I have ever had! Perfect texture and great side of in house made berry jam.. not too sweet, just the right amount of tang to it to offset the sweetness of the syrup. Also got the Crab Eggs Benedict, eat that fast so you don't miss out on the crisp texture of the crab cake, we waited too long to eat it so it got a little soggy. Good flavor though! I already made reservations to come back before we head back home. Highly recommend making a reservation and coming early to avoid the crowds (you can also get a pick of where you want to sit outside). Thank you for a lovely experience!
