Nice surprise! Luke our server was so polite and helpful. Salmon and beet salad were extra yummy! Easy to walk over to Balboa Theatre for our show. Will definitely return in a couple of weeks!
We had dinner there after seeing a play at the Balboa Theatre. We were greeted warmly by every staff member that crossed our path. Lovely wine selection and fairly priced. We both ordered the fish tacos with fresh pineapple salsa. My friend had them grilled and I had fried. Plating was inviting and the tacos were delicious. Our waiter Juan was friendly, helpful, and after asking our names referred to each of us with our names when checking on us. We both truly enjoyed our time there and will certainly be returning when next downtown for a play.
Our server, Juan, couldn't have been more attentive and helpful. He was friendly, but professional with his service. Just the right amount of attention. The manager, James, was very informative with recommending some wines that we had questions about. We will definitely be back.
Another great meal at Bronze Bird! The restaurant was packed, they were understaffed (adding to the leftover holiday crowds) and I was running late for a show. The staff was up front about the situation and James the manager came to the rescue! He gave us a realistic expectation of the time crunch but promised to try his best. Our food came out so fast and was absolutely delicious (as always!). He was so attentive and nice and made our evening so special while getting us out the door on time. I have been a fan of Bronze Bird for ages and continue to be one, thank you for a great night and experience!
Tasty food with a convenient location near Civic, Balboa, and Spreckles Theatres. We're SD county locals so it makes sense to park and dine at the hotel and then head to the theatre. Something on the menu for everyone's tastes - I recommend the brussels sprouts appetizer! The bar service is the Achilles heel of the experience, but if you're not a cocktail person it's no problem. Dress up or go causal - both work at the Bronze Bird for dinner.
Our Christmas Day dinner at Bronze Bird started on a positive note, and we appreciated the holiday atmosphere and the availability of a poultry option, which was the main reason we chose this restaurant. The primary disappointment was the main entrée. The advertised pan-seared Cornish hen set the expectation of a full half hen, but what was served consisted of two very small pieces—a leg and a partial breast—which fell short in both portion and presentation. While I can't dispute freshness, the darker, dry surface texture of the chicken and the very limp, dark kale mixed fully into the risotto gave the impression of components that had been sitting rather than freshly finished. This was especially noticeable given the holiday prix-fixe setting. Service also became less attentive as the meal progressed, with delayed coffee service and dessert not offered until prompted. Management did follow up promptly and professionally afterward, which I appreciated. With more consistency in execution—particularly for the featured entrée—this could be a much stronger holiday dining option.
Bronze Bird is a beautiful restaurant with great ambiance. The food is very good and they had the best value for the Holidays. I was very pleased to see my favorite cake of the raspberry Noell Log on the dessert table. The only thing I did not like was the Harvest white wine that was very sweet.
Walked a few miles for brunch — get here and they decide to be closed with zero notice. Front desk gentleman was incredibly rude and did not give a crap.

What a great experience! The Thanksgiving meal was delicious, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming.
Strong five star experience. Wonderful atmosphere with a fire pit outside. All of our dishes were 5 star. Watermelon feta salad had excellent dressing and glaze, sweet, with great nuts too. Bronze Bird entree was moist and layered with flavors and textures. Frest vegetables in well seasoned accompaniments. Great breading and bun on the hot chicken sandwich. Great burn, but not too much. Baja Alfredo was fun. Chocolate lava cake with black raspberry gelato was outstanding. Castviron chocolate chip cookie also. Very, very good. Juan was delightful. Reasonable prices. Great for all ages. Would recommend to anyone and return.

It was a Saturday evening so busier than when I've gone previously. Food was good, but very slow to cone out from the kitchen. Waiter was busy so longer than normal to receive service. But overall good visit, will visit again.
A wonderful place to eat before our show. Perfect location and wonderful service. We had a quiet, relaxing dinner with friends. Food was very good and they had lots of choices.
Incredible service and incredible food.

I was definetly expecting better after the recommendations I got. Atmosphere is okay, its a hotel lobby so you get what you get.
Overall the food was okay at best. I got the hot honey pepperoni pizza... it was literally just pepperoni pizza and not a good one at that. The crust was burned, and it looked cheaply made and worse than frozen pizza.
The server was nice. Not too chatty but they were busy doing opening stuff so I can't complain too much.
Overall just okay. It was calories.

They are very service oriented here, and treat their diners well. The menu is creative and the dishes are nicely presented. My only disappointment was that this restaurant used to give Open Table points, but now, instead, they want you to join a loyalty program and reward you with items you may not want, and you have a deadline to cash in the reward ticket— I'm not interested in being on anyone else's schedule to come to a restaurant- and I don't necessarily want their rewards that they offer. I'd rather collect points and cash them in for a check that I can use on my schedule at the restaurant if my choice. That is basically the reason people use Open Table in the first place.
