Walked a few miles for brunch — get here and they decide to be closed with zero notice. Front desk gentleman was incredibly rude and did not give a crap.

What a great experience! The Thanksgiving meal was delicious, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming.
Strong five star experience. Wonderful atmosphere with a fire pit outside. All of our dishes were 5 star. Watermelon feta salad had excellent dressing and glaze, sweet, with great nuts too. Bronze Bird entree was moist and layered with flavors and textures. Frest vegetables in well seasoned accompaniments. Great breading and bun on the hot chicken sandwich. Great burn, but not too much. Baja Alfredo was fun. Chocolate lava cake with black raspberry gelato was outstanding. Castviron chocolate chip cookie also. Very, very good. Juan was delightful. Reasonable prices. Great for all ages. Would recommend to anyone and return.

It was a Saturday evening so busier than when I've gone previously. Food was good, but very slow to cone out from the kitchen. Waiter was busy so longer than normal to receive service. But overall good visit, will visit again.
A wonderful place to eat before our show. Perfect location and wonderful service. We had a quiet, relaxing dinner with friends. Food was very good and they had lots of choices.
Incredible service and incredible food.

I was definetly expecting better after the recommendations I got. Atmosphere is okay, its a hotel lobby so you get what you get.
Overall the food was okay at best. I got the hot honey pepperoni pizza... it was literally just pepperoni pizza and not a good one at that. The crust was burned, and it looked cheaply made and worse than frozen pizza.
The server was nice. Not too chatty but they were busy doing opening stuff so I can't complain too much.
Overall just okay. It was calories.

They are very service oriented here, and treat their diners well. The menu is creative and the dishes are nicely presented. My only disappointment was that this restaurant used to give Open Table points, but now, instead, they want you to join a loyalty program and reward you with items you may not want, and you have a deadline to cash in the reward ticket— I'm not interested in being on anyone else's schedule to come to a restaurant- and I don't necessarily want their rewards that they offer. I'd rather collect points and cash them in for a check that I can use on my schedule at the restaurant if my choice. That is basically the reason people use Open Table in the first place.
Booked a reservation here after watching the afternoon show at balboa theater yesterday (Sat 11/1). When my family (6 of us adults) arrived, there were only 2 other tables and it was about 430 pm.
We had extremely slow service with poor attitude. When my bf and I got our pizza that we were sharing, I had to waive down the Mgr to ask for plates, and as he was walking over to me, he was shaking his head no multiple times as if I should not be trying to get his attention or something. Service was very slow and seemed like they did not want to serve us at all. Had to ask for refills, plates, a box for leftovers, the check, etc. I had worked in the restaurant business for 12 years, and from what I experienced, this seemed like an absolutely under staffed restaurant with a very lazy Mgr. I wouldn't go back.

Many excellent food choices. All the food the three of us chose was delicious. At least three relatively small dining areas--all quiet. Excellent service. An added benefit is free parking for dinner and, with tickets from the Civic Theater or the Balboa Theater, additional free parking for the performance.
The food was ok for a pre show stop but the servers were excellent- and location to the balboa theater was perfect.
Went on the valet/Balboa theater show/dinner deal (at time of writing that's $10 valet & 20% off food with same day theater ticket) & it was a fantastic value. Got a reservation but it wasn't busy at our early dinner time. Crab roll was delicious, service was great, family happy.
Very nice staff.

Surprisingly really good food and great service. at The deal they have for people attending a play at Balboa and the Civic Center is amazing -$10.00 valet parking for dinner and the theater (5 hrs) and 20% off dinner. Well worth it.
