This is where we took my mother in law for her birthday and I must say we did not get one complaint a first for her. Food was at the right temperature, the sauce was just enough and the portion was generous. Thank you for making her birthday a success.
Would have given 5 stars for the food but the last 5 times we've been there it seems like the employees are not trained enough.. lags on water refills, forgetting to bring our bread. Lagging on our order so we couldn't get the french onion soup because they dump it out at 9:45. We placed our order by 9:30.. will continue to go there because we love their prime rib.
Has always been the best menu and bar food in San Diego. Their prices are now high / service slow/ baked potato burned and old..a real shame. This San Diego local won't be back

Always a good meal at Bully’s East. The Wagyu burger is next level, as is the prime rib steak. This is a one of our go-to spots!

I don't recall our server' s name. She was polite, personable, offered suggestions, our 2 wine choices on your autumn specials menu were out of stock, other alternatives were available, salmon was flavorful, ribeye was well prepared, clean restaurant, love the red decor, it was our 1st time here. Our server was very kind to locate us to return my jacket left at the table. I appreciate her genuine care.
My wife ordered the 11oz prime rib and I tried one of their longest running mainstays - steak and enchiladas. My wife loved her prime rib, the garlic mashed and asparagus. I enjoyed the steak and enchiladas. I should mention that their soup of the day was Posole and it was great! Service was superior and the greatest part of the night. We will be back.
The food and the initial service was unfortunately disappointing. We waited over 15 minutes to be greeted once seated. The server that eventually took our table was was nice. The hamburger we ordered was bland. The chicken noodle soup had elbow pasta which is traditionally used in minestrone soup not chicken noodle. The chicken noodle also had several spicy whole pepper corns that should have been crushed not whole. The only part of our meal we enjoyed was our French fries. The items we ordered were at least reasonably priced. The restaurant was a bit loud, but the bar area is adequate for watching sports. Perhaps this place is only best suited for happy hour or the kitchen was having a bad night.

Things started out good. I was sitting at the bar and the service was fast but when my friends got there we went to the table and the service was really slow. Overall I still like this place. It’s an Institution.

A great family operated bar that makes everyone feel like family - cannot fault the atmosphere and experience here. Derek and his wife are amazing hosts and I truly recommend this bar and the food 👌🏽

These old classic Americana steak houses are getting harder and harder to find...soup or salad included, pick a protein, soft leather booths, romantic lighting, and professional attentive friendly waitstaff. Came for a wake, nicely setup and the staff was great. Cocktails, wine, and beer flowed at a brisk and accurate pace.
The appetizers here are phenomenal! The filet meatballs are perhaps the most delicious meatballs in all of San Diego, the rich, thick, gravy was so lovingly coating the meats. Prime Rib Bits are so tender, juicy, and covered in an incredible dry rub that added perfect robust flavor. Fried Artichoke Hearts are great to eat your veggies in an unhealthy but very delicious way...and you might be need that extra fiber to help with your meat loaded bowel movements later.
Wedge Salad was fresh and perfectly sized, with nice portions of crispy bacon and bleu cheese, and generous on the sweet cherry tomatoes.
8oz lobster tail was epic! I can't remember the last time I had such an humongous lobster tail. Cooked perfectly with its famous tender texture and sweet, delicate flavor. The clarified butter made it all the more wondeful. $53 regularly
8oz Filet Mignon...Extremely tender, moist and succulent, lovely! $47
efinitely coming back when I want the American Steakhouse experience, without the snobby pretentiousness.

Great to be back: We moved several years ago and traveled to San Diego for a wedding. We had an evening to go out and decided it would be great to go back to one of our favorites- Bullys. It was so great, still the best Prime Rib in town. What a San Diego treasure, thank you Bullys.
Denise was AMAZING!! The ribeye and crab stuffed mushrooms were phenomenal. Denise was so friendly and professional. Definitely recommend!

We had the classic Prime Rib which in the past has been pretty good. This time it was quite stuff? The service was ok, waitress forgot a few things. We also had flying nats around our table. Lastly, the front host folks were not at all friendly.
