We ordered a simple family pizza and family corn dog meal. $150+. Watched several groups behind us getting their order. Started getting Suspicious. Asked about it, told it's coming. 30 min later, asked again. It's still coming. After an hour, we said we needed a full refund, we didn't come to the zoo to sit and wait for food. Manager was great! Full refund, instant fresh food and 3 ice creams. Good redemption, but still wasted an hour of expensive zoo time.

This place is conveniently located just at the foot of the skytram. The only downside is that if you're just getting drinks, you still have to wait in line while everyone ahead of you gets their food. It would be nice to just have a drink checkout.

Warm welcome. The line moves quickly - good system. The chicken wings were delish! Although, I wanted the Nathan’s Chili - it wasn’t ready.

The workers clearly have not been through customer service training. They could care less that they are even there or helping customers that are paying a lot of money for food that isn’t even worth that amount of money. When I picked up the food from the guy at the counter and said ‘thank you’ he basically shoved it toward me and moved to the next. My daughter got a refill on her drink but when my son tried, he was declined and told refills were only for water. I then tried and told the same thing. When I told the female worker she refilled my daughter’s drink and not my son’s she made some comment about ‘store policy.’ At least be consistent. Probably time for some customer service training and a complete staff overhaul.

The busy bee cafe is one of the most hot busy places in the San Diego zoo. All the beverages and the snacks have a huge demand the lines are very long collection and taking orders is quite efficient. I enjoyed the veg burger and the ice tea. Also for my granddaughters, loved the French fries. It's a very nice place with an ple shaded seating area to enjoy the food after you have taken it. Also, another services, the free water provided to the flood. Everybody whoever asked for it and they do it with a smile. I like the vibes in the cafe. Very, very happy to visit it. I think one of the best places to see happy footfalls will visit again

I’m sitting here next day and didn’t want to forget to post my review. Now the service was horrible. The first two people were decently nice but the guy working the register? I think his name was John. HORRIBLE. Didn’t crack one smile and in fact looked disgusted with everyone, he even went to take the beeper out of my 6 year old’s hand couldn’t bother to ask her for it- but that’s beside the fact.. the food?? The food was incredible! We had the pizza, honey siracha wings, shoestring fries, and a fruit cup with yogurt. Absolutely delicious. Pizza was hot and ten inches (some reviewers weren’t given the right size). The wings blew my mind. Great food but they need someone else on the register for sure- I’m so glad he didn’t deter me.

Disgusting overcooked food that had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for quite a while and the service was absolute trash. $30 for a soggy corn dog with cold fries and soggy chicken strip kids meal plus an ADDITIONAL $19.25 for ONE BEER!? And they can’t even make sure it’s fresh?
I’m seriously pissed. I can’t believe I just got scammed for $49 at the San Diego zoo, I genuinely thought this place would have a shred of ethical business practice.

The pizza was tiny and not worth the cost. The burger was a much better option

Ordered two hotdog children meals and a chicken sandwich. Hotdogs came immediately but had obviously been cooked at least three hours before as they were shriveled, wrinkled, and hard in spots. Was told I’d have to wait 30-45 minutes if I wanted replacements. Chicken sandwich took 30 minutes to come and was actually good. Lesson learned again to bring all your food to the zoo as all options are not good.

Paid for my food and waited over 30 minutes. Everyone behind me received their food. Ended up having to get a refund and the manager was garbage. Never again!

It was a good place but they said the pizza was a 10” inch pizza but gave me the smaller one. I asked for my pizza and they said that was the ten inch!! The staff did not care about it. Another person had that problem and nothing was done about it.
