My friends and I drink a LOT of milk tea – we always go back to Camellia Rd. The quality of the tea and boba is unrivaled – both in San Diego and the Bay (where I live now).

I’ll always try their seasonal flavor, and my go-to order is usually the camellia blend or matcha milk tea. Staff are always so nice, and the shop is really fun to sit in with the quirky decor and artwork. Nice to have outdoor tables, too.

Always look forward to my next SD trip so I can carve out time to make a pit stop (or two or three) at Camellia.

they used to have a coffee tea and it was delicious but they took it away! It was the only good thing on the menu, everything else tastes bad.

the tea they used is really good! we got the fujian and barley milk tea. i would recommend the oolong or black milk teas rather than get the barley again though. the boba was a good consistency and i liked the chrysanthemum jelly topping

My favorite boba place in San Diego. Simple and high quality.

Very pleasant! Fast service! Drinks are very special, more on the high quality, healthier side!

Just the best tea for boba in San Diego. I love that the tea is “not too sweet.” I do ask for 25% sweetness, but you can’t go wrong with the Camelia Rd. There are longer waits sometimes. Friendly service.

Huge parking lot. Lots of board games to play. Great place for hanging out & to do work.

This place is really cute and I love their simple menu. Nothing really artificial they let you taste the tea without the milk or any sugar or anything which is nice.

I ordered the Genmaicha Milk Tea, 25% sweetness with oat milk and chrysanthemum jelly. I appreciate the strong flavor of the genmaicha and it wasn’t too milky. My only complaint is the jelly pieces were in large pieces, so I couldn’t enjoy it with the drink, I ate it at the end. It’s not enough to deduct any stars though, still a solid drink overall with a lot of jelly!

Nice cafe with good drinks (I had the genmaicha today) and very friendly and accommodating staff, which I appreciate.

Great drinks, great place to study. Outlets, wifi, and bathroom, and even board games to borrow. Small but nice to study in. Parking can be difficult at meal times

We really wanted to like Camellia Rd Tea Bar. The shop is cute, and it’s in a convenient location. Unfortunately, after giving it three separate chances, we’re done.

Every single time we visited, the drinks tasted like lightly flavored water rather than actual tea. Whether it was a classic milk tea, a fruit tea, or even their specialty blends, the flavor was so faint that we kept double-checking if they’d actually brewed it. The third visit was the worst: my oolong milk tea tasted like sweetened skim milk with a whisper of tea somewhere in the distance.

It’s not a cheap place either. When you’re paying $6-$7 per drink, you expect a drink with real depth and body, not something you could replicate at home with a teabag and a gallon of water.

I like the Matcha Latte!!

Their boba and milk tea is SO GOOD, and the staff is attentive. Packaging can be improved, the lid comes off so easily so you have to be careful. I accidentally knocked it over and lost my most of my drink shortly after getting home.
