A locals bar and PB classic, Cass St always serves up a good time. Great Steak Baguette. They should have kept the shuffleboard

I am sharing my most recent experience with Cass Street's most famous food, Oriental fish salad. I have know Cass Street since the late 80s...their Oriental fish salad was always my go-to for a number of reasons -- it was a healthy salad chopped up coarsely, it was covered in crunchy won tons and the fresh catch of the day, and it came with the most BOMB "Hunan-style" dressing! I have NO words for how tasty it was. Yes, it was. It is no longer. They should have bottled it back then, because now it is lost forever. While I realize ownership has changed since I started eating there, there was zero reason to re-invent the wheel. Now, you can count on the mostly similar salad (mushrooms are cut differently, making them look dirty if not just freshly cut, won tons are small and lack crunch, and no more chopsticks to eat these coarsely chopped, massive carrots and cukes). The dressing is probably a store bought sesame dressing -- NOTHING like the old one. The fish is still delicious. Final surprise for me was the change in price. I speak from a restaurant background. Our family had two restaurants during and after Covid, so we know how food prices rose. What I cannot understand is how a standard sized, basic ingredients-filled salad rose from $14 to $23 in a matter of four years. I can sit down in a restaurant and enjoy a seafood salad for this price. In a nutshell...the salad dressing is a serious disappointment. The salad is overpriced. The fish was still good. I will not be returning. I would love to know where their old main chef went to...I would chase him down to make more of that famous Hunan dressing!

This is the best local neighborhood dive! Security was super welcoming and Britany went out her way to make me feel comfortable during my sobriety. She went on a mission to secure a topo Chico water with lime! I'll be back here on st paddy's day for the not sober part!

Gr8 place to hang out drink some beers, shoot pool, dodge some craziness and eat some tacos from the place next to it. Bartenders are chill. Free pool on Mondays.

This is the best locals bar. The food is 10/10, and the steak baguette is to die for. Plus, they have free popcorn. The bartenders are almost extremely friendly accommodating. They've started serving an amazing chardonnay recently, so wine lovers welcome. They also have amazing specials.

Retro and hip restaurant bar located in Pacific Beach, San Diego, CA. The ambiance is kickback, relaxed with retro atmosphere with memorabilia from the 80's and such. Music playing is also from the era. There are Pool tables available should you wish to play. Decided to order the steak baguette and cheeseburger with fries along with Ashland seltzer and Alesmith beer. You order and pay for food and drinks towards the right of building and proceed to enter through left to enter restaurant-bar. Your food is brought to you when ready. Staff is really nice and food is prepared and brought out fairly quickly. Very mellow and relaxed place and recommend to visit when in the mood for a casual and relaxed ambiance with some good 80's classics paired with some simple beverages and burger+ fries.

Bartender with tattoos and beard harassed us. Do not come here until he’s fired.

Had a terrible experience. Bar tender was super unfriendly to the point of being rude. We asked about the beers on tap and he seemed annoyed at the question. We ordered or though we ordered, but he walked away to assist with some other people that just walked up to the bar. Then he totally ignored us. Not sure what we did, but it was disconcerting. And even if you are 90 years old, bring your effin ID.

They don't even deserve one star. My parents really wanted to check this place out so we came and the bartender covered in tattoos was a complete asshole. Not only did he have a bad attitude with sass in his tone but when I ordered he ignored me. I thought maybe he didn't hear me so I ordered again and it was pretty apparent he was completely ignored me. So I walked out. They will not get a single dollar from me with bartenders that rude.

I was torn between the steak baguette and the chicken baguette, so I ended up getting both! I didn't expect their sandwiches to be so flavorful and yummy! The baguette was crunchy and they take out the insides, which is my favorite part, so I was a little sad LOL. I normally don't order chicken, but this sandwich was so delicious! I also got their fries, which is seasoned perfectly. The guy at the bar was very friendly and helpful. He even gave me a can of hard apple cider! Will definitely be back when I'm craving for a chicken baguette!

Had an amazing time at Cass Street Bar Restaurant! Their Burrito with Shrimp and Beef was a flavor-packed delight. Juicy shrimp, tender beef, and fresh veggies blended perfectly. Highly recommended!
