Do not waste your time or money at this place. Our kids wanted dessert so we took our kids here to look at the gelato. Our intentions were to check this place out and the cookie place across the street. While my wife and her parents were looking at the gelato our daughter went to the restroom. She came out and I said āok we can look across the street but Iām coming back for this peanut butter gelato.ā To this the lady behind the counter threw up her hands in disgust and said, āof course! Just here to use the restroom!ā And walked away from us. Unbelievable! I was absolutely coming back , but not after thatā¦no way! I thanked her for her appalling lack of customer service and told her she just earned this review. The cookie place ended up being closed and we went down to the Ghirardelli shop down the streetā¦dessert was enjoyed by everyone and the service was excellent. Donāt go to this place. The product looked great, but rudeness like that is unacceptable and intolerable. I wish I had read the multitude of other negative reviews about the ārude lady that works the night shiftā hereā¦I have no doubt that this was her.

A lot of choices here to satisfy your sweet tooth in Gaslamp! We got a crepe and added a scoop of gelato. It was plenty for 2 people to share. Prices are high, but that is expected in this location.

This was our second time eating here. The food was delicious and reasonable price. Monica, despite dealing with remodeling, was courteous and pleasant and provided remarkable service. We are awaiting for the weekend to go back and have their tiramisu pancakes! Thank you Monica.

Disappointing Experience - Overhyped and Undelivered. I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at Chocolate SD left me no choice. This was, hands down, one of the worst dining experiences Iāve had in San Diego.
The service was abysmal, completely inattentive, unfriendly, and disorganized. It felt like the staff had no interest in providing even the bare minimum level of hospitality.
The crepes were equally disappointing, bland, poorly made, and far from what Iād expect from a place that markets itself as a chocolate haven. The flavors didnāt pop, the presentation was sloppy, and the overall quality was shockingly bad.
To top it all off, the hype around this place feels completely unwarranted. Donāt believe the positive reviews, they donāt align with the reality of what this place offers. There are far better dessert spots in San Diego that actually care about their customers and their food quality.
Absolutely not worth your time or money.

Bad service, on their phones. Bad attitude, the food is also really unsanitary, They donāt let anyone use the bathroom until they pay for something. The girl who took my order was Tan and has blonde hair, had such a frowny face on the whole time, and was not being helpful.

Really terrible service. The Spice chai latte was supposed to be large one, which displayed on their menu, but the barista argued with me that itās small. Then she was not cool at all adding more milk, and instead, asked me to try it first. I wanted to to return, but she was very rude and told me to try before she add more milk and powder for me. I tried it, and it tasted gross. Not recommended at all!š¤®š¤®š¤®š¤®

She responded with a smile despite my poor English. The hazelnut chocolate flavor was very delicious, and when I came back two days in a row, she remembered the flavor I ordered the day before and gave me some recommendations. I think it's a very small thing, but given the limited interaction we had, it made me very happy. I will definitely go again when I come to San Diego!
