An absolute must eat!! Worth the wait. Service - from the very beginning to the end is welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Food - both old-school in flavor (like from your abuela's kitchen) but modern in presentation and refinement. Beverages - (which I rarely comment on) where sooo delicious, balanced and refreshing that I have to mention. Ambiance - bright, lively, and Instagram-worthy.
Overall 5 stars. The food was amazing and came out really quick! I got the El Patron sampler: fried egg, French toast, beans, and Cremosos Chilaquiles. I also got the aguas frecas flight. The only suggestions I would make is to make the aguas frecas a bit sweeter and add more cinnamon to the French toast. Definitely would recommend!
We celebrated my birthday at Cocina 35 and had such a great experience! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming. Fernando, our server, was kind and attentive and truly made my birthday feel special. I'm pregnant, and he added the sweetest touch by writing “baby on board” on my birthday dessert — it was so cute and thoughtful. Little details like that really make a difference. Great service, great vibes & great food!
The food was fantastic and so fresh. The service was fantastic....everyone there is so friendly! The music and vibe was fun. Next time I'm in San Diego, I would love to go back!
made it just in time for the 15 min grace if not probably 1-2 min late (parking) and they were so nice about it and took us right in, only waited about 2 min to sit us down, I was glad our reservation was respected. Service was great and so was the food.
This restaurant has great food, ambience, and a welcoming environment. My wife and I love coming here
One of the best experiences for you and your family. Highly recommend. From the food, service, and ambiance!
Service was lacking which was understandable due to the Valentine holiday. Our server was still very helpful and friendly despite of the demand. More Importantly, we made a reservation for large party of 11, and my party was squeezed into a small table which is unacceptable leaving 4 of the party standing. The staff sitting us just stood. We ended solving the situation ourselves. If you going to offer reservations. Please insure adequate sitting for the reservation or don't offer it at all.

We had such an amazing brunch experience here! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and full of positive energy, the kind of place that instantly puts you in a good mood and makes you want to stay awhile. It's a perfect spot to celebrate with family or meet up with friends because the vibe is fun without being overwhelming. The food was absolutely delicious, and we loved how many options there were on the menu. Whether you're in the mood for something sweet or savory, they truly have it all. The chilaquiles were divine, perfectly seasoned with so many rich, layered spices and incredible flavor in every bite. And the Mexican iced coffee was just as impressive, refreshing, smooth, and the perfect brunch treat. On top of the great food, the service was on point. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. It's rare to find a place that balances great food, excellent service, and a fun, inviting atmosphere so well. This is definitely a unique spot we'll be coming back to again!

We arrived with a party of four and we were greeted with a warm invitation but once it was mentioned some members of the party didn't speak Spanish the tone changed. The waiter was no longer warm or welcoming and the service felt rushed even with them at less than half capacity. The food arrived within 5 minutes of being ordered cold, but had great flavor. Our drinks arrived 15 minutes after the food only because we had asked when our drinks would be arriving and one of them was incorrect. We have frequented Cocina 35 for many years but the last two visits at the Liberty Station location have been subpar. We do not live locally and make a trip specifically for them and unfortunately won't be back soon.
We found the restaurant on TikTok, and it was an absolute amazing experience! The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried exceeded expectations. The service was just as impressive. Hector is the best— friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing. You can really tell the staff cares about creating a great dining experience. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back if we ever are in San Diego area again.

Very good food, friendly bilingual staff. The atmosphere is great, with indoor and outdoor seating with the dinning room available as open-air.
