Although we normally sit on the patio, yesterday was a hot one so we opted for a table inside. As always, the food and service were fantastic. We brought two friends who had never eaten at Cocina de Barrio before and they both are looking forward to a return trip. We shared several small plates including the guacamole and the quesadillas de huitlacoche. Huitlacoche isn't widely available, even in San Diego, so I never miss a chance to enjoy it while eating at Cocina de Barrio....
This food is absolutely exceptional -fabulous inventive dishes! Great service and reasonable prices! The chef is amazing -thank you for bringing such an outstanding restaurant to Hillcrest!!
Excellent food. Oyxcan style is not just tacos and enchiladas. Very unique menu. Both food & drinks. The mole sauce was the best. It was used in a variety of dishes. For example I ordered their short ribs with mole. WOW, it was great! The service was attentive & helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant. Enjoy!
