The staff here is always friendly and accommodating. The food is 10/10, especially the current menu with Caribbean items. My favorites are the Tropic Thunder and Caribbean fried chicken with plantain cornbread. You won't be disappointed :).
I’ve been to Coco Maya many times — it’s one of my go-to spots in San Diego. This visit was a Saturday afternoon before heading to an event, and I was thrilled to find out they were running happy hour on food (the host initially said no, but our server confirmed it). I ordered my favorite: carnitas nachos, which aren’t on the regular menu but pop up during happy hour. They were as delicious as ever and served in a portion size that’s generous without being overwhelming....
