Drinks are quite pricey - it's hard to get a drink for under $6. It is located by the corner of a main road, but is shielded in by plants and other scenery. The drink I wanted was sold out, and I went in the morning. The iced mocha I got instead was not super strong and not very flavorful. But, if you're a student there's many places to sit and study, so it is a convenient cafe for people who live in the area.

Parking: Many spaces, a free parking garage if needed, with limited spaces there.

It's located in a nice quiet neighborhood in Carmel Valley. It has great interior and lots of seating. Great to hangout with friends and study. I got the almond croissant and lavender latte and it was delightful. I'll definitely come back.

Saying goodbye to this place is like saying goodbye to an old friend. The food used to be extremely high quality for a cafe, the drinks were great, and the ambiance made for a very relaxing time. I had been so many times in the past few years and I was always blown away by the breakfast burritos and chilaques. Honestly still trying to find a better chilaquiles place.Fast forward and now you don't even want to look at the food. I went back a couple months ago and didn't recognize the frozen burrito in the to-go box. I noticed another person experiencing the same shock and we bonded over the "good old days" haha. Anyway it's not worth it anymore, they kept the same prices for lower quality items. I've read the other recent reviews and completely agree. Sad to see you go old friend!

I love coming here to hang out. The coffee is great, they have awesome food, and plenty of seating — both indoors and outdoors. There’s also ample parking, so easy for meeting up with friends! Recommend the bacon brekkie sandwich, it’s amazing.

We used to love this cafe. They had most delicious burritos, soups and bakery. Don’t know what happened but they changed the menu completely and started to preorder burritos from outside and then just heat it up. Last 2 times we tried those burritos it was disgusting, cold and raw looking sausage. We hopped we can get a soup instead but it’s no longer available.Sad, it was a great place to grab breakfast.Side note: stuff is great!

I used to LOVE this place, it’s 700 ft from my back door….so I would come by and get food and drinks at least 3-4 times a week. It was my neighborhood cafe/coffee joint and I’d spend a ridiculous amount of money because it was worth it. The service was amazing, the food was amazing and the drinks were amazing too. Sadly it is exactly the opposite now. The staff is rude with a “can’t be bothered” vibe. The menu was slashed down to a couple basic items that don’t taste fresh and are a far cry in quality from the presentation of years past. The menu they have left (they got rid of literally every amazing dish they had) isn’t worth the price anymore, they don’t have anything worth ordering on a regular basis, and it tastes like it was frozen and reheated, not fresh anymore. The drinks are not consistent at all, definitely don’t count on having your drink made the same way each time you order it. That never happens anymore. I used to bring all of my friends, visit multiple times a week and look forward to hanging out and thoroughly enjoying myself. I won’t be back. I tell others there are far better options and to go elsewhere. It’s just shocking what has happened to this place. If you didn’t see it in it’s prime you’d never really understand just how bad it is now.

Use to love going here, it's our local cafe but the recent changes to the menu have removed many of the best items, problems ordering online and general quality has gone down. Some of the staff are very rude and quality of the lattes depends on who is serving you. I did let a staff member know I was having issues ordering certain menu items and the response I got was it was nothing to do with her...

Excellent coffee and food. They have a good number of vegan and vegetarian options, which I appreciate. The outdoor patio is lovely and inside is bright and airy.Good wifi and outlet access if you sit inside. That's not easy to find these days!

Menu changed. Shortened by a lot.Gone are our fav chilaquiles and a bit more constrained on subs. Still good foods and coffee, just lost shine a little.Total new staff too. ?new management?

Really like their Mocha, drove all the way from the East end of Mira Mesa to this branch and they were run out of the Mocha Ingredients. Happened twice. They don’t answer calls or take orders online, so there’s no way to check If some items are in stock. Did not even get a credit or discount for the alternate coffee option that I purchased which I’m not that great a fan of.

Peaceful and quiet atmosphere, sophisticated and neat interior, friendly staff... The tomato soup and FREDDO were also very delicious.

Delicious food (burritos were fantastic, not greasy at all), pastries and coffee. Very chill for a Saturday morning and a perfect spot for dogs or a quick stop on a bike ride. Plenty of parking in the garage.

Sorry no pics but all the other posts do justice. It’s just alright, they are more of a neighborhood cafe for all the families in the area. The coffee was just alright and it seemed overpriced. You’re mostly paying for the space and building rather than coffee. I didn’t get food so maybe that’s the move. I wouldn’t get off the freeway to come back.

We had lunch once in the store, and the food is good and amount is decent. We ordered takeout next time, only a few weeks after, and the amount is barely larger than my fist. Everything is reduced in size at least 1/3 or half except the price. For example, The pork belly came with 4 pieces last time and it’s 2 piece in all of the bowls now. Not sure if they changed the size recently or just takeout or just me. I hope it’s just me but then quality control is another problem. It’s shocking how they address inflation so quickly…

Some of the kindest people working behind the counter at this location. I go out of my way to visit this particular Copa Vida location because of the atmosphere and upbeat staff. If you can get a table, it’s a great place to knock out some work on your laptop or catch up on email. Power outlets are limited, but the WiFi connection is usually great. Weather-permitting, you can sit outside on the patio and there’s a couple hidden power outlets out there, too.
