Cotijas has the best Mexican food I've ever had! I currently live in Minnesota where Tex-Mex dominates and it's hard to find good Mexican. I used to live in San Diego and would frequent this taco shop so often that I am suffering a Cotijas withdrawal. The staff was always great and put passion into their cooking making every bite so good. I have family near by and I have asked them to send a large container of the sauce.

By far the best breakfast burrito I have had in like, a long time.

One of my most frequented taco shops. It's a highly under-talked about spot and that's just a shame. I have never once left feeling put off. Each and every meal I've had there is my new favorite burrito, until the next time I visit. How are there breakfast burritos?? THE ABSOLUTE BEST. California burritos are so overrated... not when you get them from Mr. Cotija!!! (add sour cream, substitute the french fries for has browns, and top it off with their creamy green salsa, I think it's a avocado salsa). The service is also very quick and friendly. I love everything about Cotija's. It's on of the only places I will drive over 30 minutes just to have on a consistent basis.

I have been going to this spot since high school and I can honestly say that it's the best that it's ever been. I don't know if they have had new management or what has happened over the last few years but they went from being a mediocre taco shop to the best taco shop in Point Loma (by far). Everything I have eaten there has been absolutely delicious from the Carne Asada Quesadilla to the Philly asada burrito. Rolled tacos are fantastic and so are the hard shell tacos. Also the protein bowls are FANTASTIC and quick perfect for lunch. My family eats here 2-3 times a week and it's always a great meal unlike other places that charge an arm and a leg and give you terrible food. Also they don't over salt their food like other PL/OB taco shops. Eat here and you will not be disappoointed.

It's still my go-to place when I visit Pt Loma. This last time I had a combo plate and as always, it hit the spot. Nothing fancy, just a fine cocina for comida mexicana.

I've come here twice thus far for breakfast and I have to give it to Cotija's, it's my favorite place for Mexican breakfast in San Diego! I've ordered a breakfast burrito with eggs, cheese, cream cheese (crema), and hashbrowns and it's been delicious every time. I've visited on a Saturday and Sunday morning and the service has always been quick. They accidentally forgot beans in my partner's order but once I made a staff member aware, they fixed the order and added the beans immediately. The salsas are also very fresh and authentic. This place is a cute, casual breakfast spot with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There's also plenty of parking. I can't wait to come back!

Food: Great food as fresh as it can get. Try the shrimp Diablo Burrito or fish tacos. I'm sure it's all great. Service: friendly counter service only. Ambience: cinder block building with very limited seating between inside and outside.

Cotijas is like the McDonalds of Mexican food out here in San Diego. This franchise absolutely dominates. Cotijas is super nearby work so we stop in quite often for our lunch needs. This restaurant has stayed consistent with quality and products for the last 6 months and I'm blown away. Their service is quick, especially during the lunch rush. Their facility is extremely clean and always inviting. This is one of the cleanest Cotijas I've been in. Their salsa bar is cleaner than most and always stocked. That cilantro salsa is amazing and I could literally drink it. You can make your own burritos and end up with a cheaper burrito than those listed on the menu board. Their cheese quesadillas are super simple but they keep simplicity poppin. I fully suggest their protein bowls, it's basically the contents of two burritos for the price of one. Extremely filling and easy to save for lunch. Love love love this facility.

Yelp Review: This local Mexican joint is a breakfast haven that deserves a spotlight. I stumbled upon the hashbrown breakfast burrito, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer. Stuffed with bacon, sausage, and boasting a flavorful integration of sour cream inside, it's a breakfast dream come true. The combination of crispy hashbrowns and savory goodness is pure morning magic. Now, let's talk about the Surfing Cali Burrito. Whoever crafted this masterpiece deserves applause. Packed with flavors that transport you straight to the California coast, it's a surf and turf delight that hits all the right notes. The blend of ingredients is a symphony for your taste buds. And let's not forget the salsas - they're practically an art form. From mild to fiery, each one elevates the flavors in a way that's nothing short of impressive. Whether you're a salsa aficionado or just dipping your toes in, you're in for a treat. In a nutshell, everything I've tried so far at this Mexican gem has been fantastic, and I can't wait to explore more of their menu. From the hashbrown breakfast burrito to the Surfing Cali Burrito, and the amazing salsas - it's a local treasure that deserves all the praise! Highly recommend for a flavorful Mexican fix anytime.

Ordered 3shreded beef tacos when I came home opened the box tocos we're dripping wet with grease dripping all over the place soggy and cold ,had to throw them away. Never ordering anything else from this jip joint lazy cooks in back no flavor just boiled meat and greasy food

Salsas have no spice. California burrito is way better at the place a few doors down, was bland and chicken was average. Tried a couple times but it's painfully average in a city with great Mexican food.
