Consistently good Mexican food. Quick service. Fairly priced for the area.
I gotta say I was a little disappointed in the food. The Cali burrito was good. The carne asada burrito was ok. The fish tacos weren’t great. The rice and beans are not good. Tasted old. The salsas weren’t that great either. Not sure I’ll return
This is San Diego’s best burrito. Hands down. Grilled chicken California is a must try.

Ortiz's Taco Shop is a popular spot for delicious food, open late into the night. Known for their California burrito, you can add shrimp for a surf and turf twist. Their skinny cut, well-seasoned fries are a standout feature. The Al Pastor and carne asada are highly recommended, while the fish tacos are also available and wonderful. They also have mini tacos, especially the mini tacos de adobada. For dessert, indulge in their handmade flan. The Cali burrito is the best thing there. This place really could fit the bill for neighborhood taco shop but then goes above and beyond and elevates the quality. And the prices are super reasonable.
