They opened early, which was nice. It’s right next to the hotel where we’re staying. The meals are big, but quite expensive. We paid over $60 for two people. We only ordered two combo plates, a cup of coffee, and a glass of lemonade—and that came to $60.
I made a special request for my egg to have the yolk fully cooked, but it wasn’t done as I asked. In the end, we paid that amount including a 20% tip. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the minimum tip per restaurant was around 10%. Here, the minimum they recommend is 18%, then 20%, and then 25%.

My partner and I went here earlier this year for breakfast and it was a mini highlight of our weekend San Diego trip for sure. The food was tasty and a good value as well. We sipped our delicious coffee in the comfort of a classic American diner setting up to and including the staff who treated us with the very same charm. After our meal, I asked if the branded coffee mugs were for sale, as I wanted a souvenir. The owner behind the register told me while they didn't sell them, I could have one for the road. A very nice gesture from a San Diego gem.

Every time I come here the food is excellent. Especially compared to the price. The tri tip dinner is well worth trying. The service is great, friendly and they take care of you. Good music playing as well as a few TVs to gaze at. A must visit if you are traveling from out of town.

Haven't dined here since earlier in the year in January. They have since redone the entire indoor setup. Beautifully done I must say. However, the wait time once we put our order in wasnlong., We waited close to 30 mins. The room was almost empty, 2 other diners at their tables. So the long wait didn't make sense. We ordered drinks, coffee for me and a coke for hubby. The coke had a peculiar taste my husband said. Sort of like a flavored cold tea mixed in with coke, terrible. Finally our order comes to the table. My hubby's ordered was not how he ordered it. My burger order was fine. Table next to us arrived after us received their order and her waffle she complained was overcooked. I could clearly see it WAS! Not sure what is going on with this place but back before the renovation, the place looked crappy, but both the food and drinks were good no complaints. Hope they are able to get things sorted out to do better. Perhaps hiring a different COOK????

This place is a hidden jem💫. We stayed at the hotel behind it and ate here for breakfast and dinner last couple days and every meal is off the charts delicious. Portions are great and the atmosphere is very comforting & 🙏🏾 welcoming. We heard they're known for their pizzas too so we looking forward to this tonight 😀. If you live in the area, this place is great. Their bar is elegante as well. A lot of tvs around for games.
