This is the absolutely best pizza I have ever had. Even you cannot eat something better in Italy. It is mouth watering in every bite. Loved it. Try it guys. You will never regret.

We found Cucina Caprese after wanting to find a restaurant in San Diego that wasn’t another Mexican food tourist trap. I am SO glad that we did.It is clear that the owner is intimately involved with the food that is served here. Ingredients are fresh, menu is easy to understand, and although there was not a kids specific menu, we were able to find some great options that both of our kids enjoyed.The Gnocchi al Pesto was probably the best gnocchi I’ve had in my entire life, and the prosciutto burrata was flavorful and absolutely delicious.We were able to walk right in and be seated immediately. Staff were all extremely friendly and attentive. Be prepared to wait a little bit for your food to arrive…I mention this not because it negatively impacted our experience, but because authentic, FRESH Italian food is made to order, takes time, and may not be expected by those of us used to an Americanized take on authentic Italian. I can’t wait for another trip to San Diego so that I can come back.Don’t hesitate…give this place a try!!Kid-friendliness: No kids menu, but plenty of great options that our 7 & 10 year olds enjoyed!

The most delicious pizza I have ever eaten! The crust was light and fluffy. I have never had crust like that before. I ate an entire margherita pizza (only 450 calories) and I did not feel stuffed or bloated. The Chef took our orders and talked to us about his restaurant. We will definitely go back. A neighborhood gem.

Extremely satisfied with our visit to Cucina Caprese, so much so that we booked another reservation for six of us next Saturday! Attentive friendly service with the owner coming by to make sure we were happy. We had the arugula salad, the burrata with roasted sweet potato and beets, and the mushroom prosciutto pizza followed by the pistachio ricotta pie. My favorite was the burrata, with the pizza a close second. Each was delicious by its own right. Grateful to have this hidden gem so close to us. ¡Grazie Cucina Caprese!

It's hard to choose what's better here: the food or the service. Both are as good as you can get. Garlic lovers don't miss the focaccia! Known for its pizza, but the entrees are wonderful. Fish specials on Friday. Don't let the strip mall location or the simple decor fool you; this is a great place to eat.

We came here just by chance staying for a night in San Diego, and we wish we lived closer! We LOVED everything - food, service, fresh options! Every single wait staff was so welcoming and attentive. The chef came out and let us know about the specials, all from the local farmers market. The items were in season and fresh, and some of my favorite Italian dishes (having been to Italy several times)! We had an arugula salad (very fresh & peppery), the special beet appetizer (delicious!) and two pizzas. We loved it all that we ordered more. We will definitely try to come back!
