I have eaten their, carrot cake, their brunch foods (I especially loved their Sriracha fried chicken with their mac & cheese & their delicious salads), and also their sweet treats such as their drinkable chocolates! So good! Definitely bummed that they’re closing permanently but I’m happy I got to enjoy their incredibly delicious foods. The photo posted is their special ruby hot chocolate as a choffogato (meaning they add soft serve ice cream)!!!

Husband and I drove in from out of town and were looking for some food. Chose this place because it looked different from usual basic options and we are so glad we did. Space is clean, team members are friendly, and the food was SO good. Also could not get enough of their hollandaise sauce and was stoked to find out they bottle it to sell. THANK YA’LL! You made a tired, hungry woman very happy. ❤️ 10/10 recommend and would definitely come again.

Guess what!! I've been living in San Diego for 20 yrs and I just found this cute little Jewel in North Park, (which would be South Park. I think) anyhow, this cute little Jewel is called Eclipse Chocolate, and OMG! ..they have CHOCOLATE!! And a brunch menu!! The Cookie, the sprinkle mix vial, and the heart molds is why I bought. I highly recommend this adorable hidden gem for your chocolate ? fixes???????

I lived in North Park 1991-1999. As many of us worked on revitalizing the neighborhood, we could only dream of having spots such as this.I stopped by this chilly morning for brunch. Outside seating made for great people-watching as I waited for my order: Avocado Benedict. This wasn't your standard variation on Eggs Benedict. This was an original cut above. Every bite perfection. Creamy hollandaise. Chili burnt caramel was hard to imagine but did not disappoint. Subtle yet distinct, the perfect counterpoints. All sprinkled with fresh chives. The price was very reasonable, too.If i could find this quality dining, in such setting, even at a higher price, in SF mid-Peninsula, where i live now, I would be so happy. That is not happening. So back to Nortrh Park i will come!

Went here for brunch and it was amazing. It's a huge bummer they'll be moving to online only soon

We only tried a couple of the hot chocolates. For the price the chocolate used wasn't very delicious. Was actually a bit dissapointed by that. Both drinks seemed to be lacking something. Couldn't quite put my finger on it. Although they get an A for the inventive drink options. Very unique. Will try it one more time, but skip the drinks and try the food instead. We spent about $30 for 2 hot chocolates including tip.

Eclipse has been my very favorite chocolate shop in San Diego for many years. First, it is local, second, it is unique, and finally, it is delicious! I was first introduced to Eclipse when I went to a wedding at least 10 years ago. Instead of a wedding cake, my friend had a huge tray full of several tiers of Eclipse cupcakes. They were all chocolatey goodness with ganache and lots of different flavors such as lavander, honey, goat cheese and spicy peppercorn. My husband and I split a few so we could try different flavors. Then, at a party, a friend brought a box of salted chocolate caramels, that also came in several flavors. The chocolate is great quality and the unique flavors always work together. I then started buying cupcakes and caramels for special occasions. Later, they turned into a small bar/bistro. I have been for brunch, drinks, and dessert periodically through the years. However, for me the draw has always been the desserts and the chocolate shop. They make the best gifts for friends both in and out of San Diego, and the cupcakes are always a hit at a dinner party. I love giving something that is clearly made in San Diego.Recently, I was saddened to hear that they plan to close due to staff shortages. I went back a few days ago to do some Christmas shopping and get some cupcakes to share with my husband. I learned that they currently have no specific closing date, which is good news. They were also very busy, which is also good news. They were totally out of my favorite salted caramels and said that they had been selling out daily. Instead, I got some infused truffles as gifts for my students, and some fancy chocolate bars for friends. I also got tea and hot sauce as part of my gift shopping. When I go, I want to buy everything! The cupcakes I bought were peanut butter chocolate, spicy banana, and strawberry rhubarb (all of which were amazingly chocolatey). If you love chocolate, want to support a local business, and possibly help them stick around, go give them a try today!

Dear Eclipse Bistro, I so enjoyed having a meal with my family during South Park Walkabout! Your place was a much appreciated escape from the crowds and lines! Your food and service is delightful. My bacon avocado panini was delish and generous and I’m enjoying as I write this the rest I took home! Candyce

This is a very unique spot hidden in North Park...I heard they are closing this location soon, so sooner than later for a visit is a great idea.My friend bought chocolate from Eclipse a while back and we used that chocolate to make some AMAZING hot chocolate. So since then I have been wanting to check it out. The atmosphere of this spot is cool. It looks like an old fashion candy / ice parlor type feel. But it is very small. There are not too many places to sit. From the time we were there, it looked like most people stopped and ordered drinks to go. I had my kids, so our main reason for this visit was the Ice Cream. So we were able to get a seat and enjoy our ice cream. The ice cream is over the top. And by that I mean they is a lot going on with them. The ice cream itself is soft serve (Chocolate / Vanilla / Twist). But the toppings is what it was all about. They had several options of waffle cones and waffle bowls that had a lot of candy on them. The kids loved it. I tried the "The Fat Elvis Banana Split". It was enough for 2 or 3 people to share. Peanut Butter and Chocolate magic shell, fresh banana, maple bacon, whip cream and a peanut butter mousse pop...which was the best part! The sundae was $15 which might be a little over priced. The kids waffle cones where $12 each. For soft serve ice cream...I don't know. But the presentation was great. Staff was great as well. Very friendly and really attentive to anything you might need. If they were staying open long term, I probably would go again and maybe try their drinks. When they close, I'm told they will be going online to sell their chocolate. The chocolate is worth checking this place out.

Perfection, as always. This 55% cacao chocolate milk just made my...life. Not since Spain have I had not-too-sweet drinking chocolate like this. *finger kiss*

They are closing sometime in the next month or so. Please stop by and support them before they close! They have brunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9am - 4pm. They also have an online store you can buy their chocolates from. They plan to move to online sales only soon. Take a look at their article on Sandiegoville. I've only had their desserts here. Staff was friendly and the desserts were very pretty and tasty.
